Spelling: Magazine collage

I got this idea from a friend and it works well with junior and senior high classes! Take a variety of magazines, newspapers and calendars to class. Tell the students to cut pictures and words from the materials and create a collage on a piece of construction paper. The students should create a collage that "tells about themselves". After the students have finished ask them to show their collage to the class and explain why the chose certain pictures and words. The students will be using art and English to share their personalities with the class! ENJOY!
