Reading: A Little History of the World

I teach adult lower-intermediates, and I've found some great simple texts in "A Little History of the World" by E.H. Gombrich. The famous art historian wrote it fr children when he was young, and the chapters are short and engaging, even for adults. The subject matter is interesting and the writing is beautiful. Because it's simple yet sophisticated, I have found it very confidence building in students.
