Holidays: Christmas Alphabet Chant

A kindergarten teacher gave me this idea of a alphabet chant which I've adapted for my adult ESL literacy students. Students can act out each line. You could easily make it your own by using three or four letters at a time instead of five or by making up your own rhymes.

What Many Canadians Do at Christmastime

ABCDE They decorate the Christmas tree.
FGHIJ They eat turkey on Christmas day.
KLMNO They shovel lots of snow.
PQRST They sing about a special baby.
UVWXY At the stores they buy, buy, buy.
ZZZZZ After Christmas they go to bed.
