University ESL Instructor Needed in Turkey

EFL Instructor Position – Çankırı Karatekin University (Türkiye)

Location: Çankırı, Türkiye – a welcoming city only 1.5 hours from the capital Ankara by bus or car.

Position Overview
Çankırı Karatekin University is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EFL Instructor to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach English to a diverse range of learners in a supportive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct speaking-focused lessons for English preparatory (prep) classes.
• Teach general English courses for adults.
• Teach general English lessons for young learners.
• Approximately 18 teaching hours per week.
• One day off per week.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: USD 1,400 – 1,600 per month (depending on qualifications and experience).
• Accommodation: Institutional support may be available and will be discussed during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications (per Council of Higher Education regulations)

In accordance with the latest criteria set by the Council of Higher Education of Turkey for employing foreign instructors in university preparatory programs:

For Native English Speakers

• Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, Linguistics, English Language Teaching, Education, or related fields
• Native speakers without a degree in the above fields must have at least two years of documented experience in language teaching

For Non-Native English Speakers

• Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, or English Language Teaching
• Additionally, they must meet at least one of the following:
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching English at an internationally recognized accredited language teaching institution
  • Hold an internationally recognized CELTA or DELTA certificate (or equivalent)
