Teach English in Hiroshima (holiday position from 9/20)

We are currently recruiting a native English speaking, trainee English conversation instructor for our small schools in Hiroshima. This position is suitable for a young person seeking a cultural exchange opportunity without any expense for themselves.

A working visa is not required as this is a non-remunerative position (holiday). However, we do cover private accommodation with internet and basic living expenses.

Our schools are on the Shimanami Kaido island chain between Onomichi city and Shikoku island. This area is know as Japan's best cycling route. It is in a national park, about 1 hour by bus from the nearest big city (Fukuyama). However, it is by no means remote. We have 2 shopping malls and restaurants such as McDonald's a short walk away.

The current position starts from September 20th. The 1st week involves sitting in with a professional teacher as they conduct short conversation classes for students of all ages. After that, the applicant is responsible for giving reading or speaking practice to very small groups of students - about 4 hours/day (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays).

Although this is a non-contracted position, it is important to us that the applicant stays for the full period they agree - 3 weeks, 4 weeks, etc. This gives us time to find another trainee so that our students can enjoy the cultural exchange. It also allows us to arrange at least 1 sightseeing event the students can enjoy with the trainee.

We CANNOT accept non-native English speaking applicants because this is a cultural exchange program, not a purely English teaching program.
