Spanish Teacher - Middle and High School - Anseong, South Korea

Job Description:
Valor International Scholars (VIS) is seeking a qualified and passionate Middle and High School Spanish Teacher. The successful candidate will primarily teach Spanish language courses ranging from Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III, with the potential to teach AP Spanish Language and Culture. AP training and support can be provided for qualified candidates who have not previously taught AP courses.

New faculty should be prepared to teach a broad range of Spanish language learners and to adapt course assignments from year to year as we balance the strengths of our faculty with the needs of students. All VIS teachers are responsible for cultivating a Christ-centered educational environment where students are encouraged to grow in character, faith, and academic ability. Teachers are expected to plan and implement engaging lessons that develop students’ proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish while fostering an appreciation for Hispanic cultures and global perspectives.

As members of a collaborative school community, teachers are expected to contribute to the life of the school beyond the classroom. This may include advisory responsibilities, student support, extracurricular activities, or other areas where their gifts and expertise can help strengthen the overall educational experience for students.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Spanish, Spanish Education, Foreign Language Education, or a related field is required. Candidates must also have either completed a teacher licensure program in an English-speaking country or have at least three years of teaching experience in Spanish language instruction. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Teachers at VIS are expected to support the mission of Christian education by integrating a Biblical worldview into their teaching and interactions with students. They should demonstrate professional integrity, a strong work ethic, and serve as positive role models for students. An active Christian faith, evidenced through personal spiritual growth and participation in a church community, is essential. Teachers are also expected to communicate effectively and collaborate well within the school community.
