Daejeon Sahmyook Elementary School is currently seeking a qualified and responsible native English teacher for a 90-day full-time maternity leave replacement position.
We are a private elementary school located in Daejeon, South Korea, and an officially accredited Cambridge International School. The successful applicant will work in a supportive school environment and collaborate with both native English teachers and Korean homeroom teachers.

1. Salary and Employment Conditions
⚫ Contract Period: September 7, 2026 (Monday) – December 5, 2026 (Saturday), 90 days
※ This is a fixed-term substitute contract, and the contract will not be automatically renewed upon completion.
※ However, depending on the school’s operational needs and the teacher’s performance evaluation, a contract for the 2027 academic year may be considered.
⚫ Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
※ Working hours include lunch and break times and may be adjusted according to the school’s operational needs.
⚫ Teaching Load: 24 class periods per week
(One class period is 40 minutes.)
⚫ Duties: Overall responsibilities of the native English teacher on maternity leave, including:
⚫ Salary: Determined according to the school’s salary scale, taking the applicant’s qualifications and experience into consideration
※ The approximate monthly gross salary is KRW 2,800,000–3,000,000.
※ The above amount includes a monthly housing allowance of KRW 400,000.
※ The actual amount paid during the contract period will be calculated in accordance with the school’s salary and payroll policies.
⚫ Additional allowances, including overtime pay and Cambridge International Education programme allowances, may be provided in accordance with school policy.
⚫ Visa Status: Applicants must hold a valid visa permitting legal employment in Korea, such as an E-2, F-2, or F-6 visa.
※ Applicants holding an F-series visa must also meet nationality and qualification requirements equivalent to those required for an E-2 visa.

3. Qualifications
⚫ Applicants must be citizens of one of the countries eligible for an E-2 visa: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa.
⚫ Applicants must hold a TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certificate.
⚫ Preferred Qualifications:
⚫ Applicants must be diligent, responsible, and professional.
