DGIST invites applications for a contract-based, non-tenure track Teaching Professor position in English Language Teaching.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher required

    • Degree holders in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or related fields preferred

  • Non-Korean nationals only

  • Native or near-native English proficiency required

  • More than 2 years of college-level teaching experience required

  • Experience in writing English course books preferred

  • Experience in teaching scientific writing preferred

  • Teaching experience at science and technology schools preferred

  • Teaching experience using AI and other digital technologies preferred

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • 15 teaching hours per week, including:

    • Academic English: Speaking & Correspondence, 2 credits, 3 teaching hours

    • Academic English: Research & Writing, 2 credits, 3 teaching hours

    • and/or Scientific Writing, 3 credits, 3 teaching hours

  • 6 office hours per week for student consultation and academic support

  • Developing in-house instructional materials

  • Teaching classes during semesters and breaks, if asked

  • Assisting in the operation of the English program and the School, including teaching materials review/editing, class-related administrative paperwork, and student counseling

Contract Period

  • One year, from August 14, 2026 through August 13, 2027

  • Renewable upon evaluation, up to 3 years

  • The date of appointment may be adjusted in consultation with the department

Salary

The annual salary will be determined up to a maximum of KRW 50,000,000, considering experience and other backgrounds.

Selection Procedure

Document Screening → Department Interview → Faculty Personnel Committee Review

Those who pass document screening must submit teaching presentation materials before the Department Interview.

  • If no qualified applicant is found, the position may remain unfilled.

  • Applicants will be notified of the results of each stage individually via email.

  • Even after final selection, the appointment may be canceled if false statements in the application, falsified supporting documents, fraudulent actions, or being found hired by another institution through improper means are discovered.

  • Other matters not specified in this announcement will be governed by the DGIST Faculty Personnel Management Regulations and other relevant regulations.
