About the Role

Hanyang University is seeking innovative and experienced Content Developers and Teaching Staff (especially those able to do both) to join our team for first-year Mathematics and Data Science with Statistics and Programming courses taught in English. Senior year of high school math teaching experience from the US, England or Australia (particularly AP) is also useful.

This position involves a blend of developing engaging, student-centered course materials and teaching said materials along with other existing courses. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about education and experienced in creating practical, interactive content tailored for diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

(1) Development - 

  • Develop interactive and practice-based course materials in the field of math and may include Calculus, Probability, as well as Data Science with Python or R. Not all are necessary, but more is better than less.
  • Create student-centered learning activities, including:
    • Applied math problems and real-world probability scenarios.
    • Coding exercises and data analysis projects.
    • Hands-on data visualization and case-based assessments.
    • Integrate computational thinking and statistical reasoning into lesson materials.
    • Collaborate closely with faculty to align materials with learning objectives.
    • Adapt content to support a wide range of student abilities and learning styles.

(2) Teaching -

  • Teach the content developed or/and on existing courses to 1st year university students, most of which have undeclared majors until their 2nd year of study.
  • Collaborate with other developers.
  • Related to development above, not only create student-centered content and activities but teach them.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of university-level experience in teaching or developing materials in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Proven ability to design hands-on, interactive learning experiences.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data science, with familiarity in tools like Jupyter, Google Colab, or similar platforms.
  • Deep understanding of active learning and inquiry-based instruction.
  • Near-native or native-level English proficiency.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with blended, hybrid, or/and student-centered learning.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and learning management systems.
  • Ability to create and align assessments with problem-solving and coding-based learning goals.
