XPTeach is recruiting on behalf of Maple Bear Canadian School in Zhengzhou, central China. The school has been running since 2009 and is part of a global network of 400+ Maple Bear schools, which use a Canadian bilingual immersion model. It’s now hiring an English-speaking Kindergarten Teacher, with a flexible start date.

The role

• Lead a Nursery to Year 1 classroom in an English-immersion setting, following Maple Bear’s Canadian curriculum and Early Learning Continuum
• Plan hands-on, play-based lessons using centres, projects, Circle Time, Shared and Guided Reading, Word Walls and Show & Tell
• Build early literacy, numeracy and social-emotional skills, and track progress through student portfolios, termly reports and parent conferences
• Create a bright, print-rich classroom that celebrates children’s work
• Work closely with a Chinese Teaching Partner, blending Canadian and Chinese approaches
• Take part in school events, from Western holiday celebrations to open days

Who we’re looking for
A warm, safety-minded early years teacher who loves play-based learning, works well in a teaching partnership and is excited to help young children thrive in English. Experience with the Canadian curriculum or immersion teaching is a plus.
