Job Opening: Full-Time English Instructor,

Office of International Affairs (OIA), Changwon National University (CWNU)

1. Job Title

○ Position: English Instructor at the Office of International Affairs (OIA)

○ Organization: Office of International Affairs (OIA), Changwon National University (CWNU)

○ Location: Changwon, South Korea

○ Employment Term: September 1, 2025 ~ August 31, 2026, 1 year

2. Qualifications

1) Citizen of one of the following English-speaking countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.

2) At least one year of English teaching experience after obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

3) Valid visa type: E-2 visa holder (prospective E-2 or F visa holders are also eligible).

4) Preference will be given to applicants with the following qualifications:

- A master’s degree or higher

- At least one year of full-time English teaching experience at the university level in Korea

- A degree in Education, English, or TESOL

- TESOL, CELTA, TEFL, or TESL certification

3. Job Description

○ Annual Teaching Hours: 516 hours (additional pay provided for overtime hours)

○ Performing teaching and related duties for English conversation classes, English camps (for elementary school students), and other English programs offered by the university.

○ Providing English counseling at the Global Lounge on campus.

4. Salary & Benefits

1) Monthly salary 2,500,000 KRW

2) Overtime pay 30,000 KRW per hour

3) A minimum of four weeks of paid vacation per year (split between the summer and winter vacations)

4) National Health Insurance and National Pension (cost shared equally)

5) Retirement pay is provided upon completion of one full year of employment and is paid at the end of the contract (equivalent to one month’s salary).

※ Housing or housing subsidy is not provided by the university

② Copies of all academic diplomas and corresponding official transcripts

③ Copies of employment certificate(s)

※ Only English teaching experience accompanied by an employment certificate will be recognized. This document, referred to as a 재직증명서 or 경력증명서 in Korean, must include the name of the university or institution, the exact period of employment, and the position (job title) held.

④ One letter of recommendation

※ The referee must be from the university or institution listed on your submitted employment certificate (경력증명서 or 재직증명서) and the letter must include the date of issue and referee’s contact number.

⑤ A copy of passport (ID page)

⑥ A copy of Alien Registration Card (both front and back side)

⑦ Copies of certificates or licenses related to (English) education e.g. CELTA, TESOL, TESL, TEFL (if applicable)

6-2. Selected candidates (for interview) will be required to prepare a 10-minute demonstration lecture and must bring the original copies of all submitted documents on the day of the interview.

6-3. Successful candidates will be required to submit additional documents, including: apostilled diplomas (mandatory for all) and an apostilled nationwide criminal background check from their country of citizenship (if applicable).

7. Application Procedure

1) Interview invitation: Jun. 5(Thu), 2025

※ After document screening, only the selected candidates will be contacted individually for an interview and informed of the details regarding the interview including a 10-minute demonstration lecture.

2) Interview (including a 10-minute demonstration lecture) date: 1:00 PM, Jun. 14(Sat), 2025

3) Interview results: Jun. 16(Mon), 2025
