ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Daejeon Sahmyook Elementary School is an accredited private
elementary school authorized by the Korean Ministry of Education. We
teach the national curriculum and are operated by the Seventh-day
Adventist Church, combining character education with strong academic
achievement.
In September 2025, we were accredited by Cambridge University Press &
Assessment as a Cambridge International School (KR-228), joining a
network of Cambridge schools in over 160 countries.
This is a position at a licensed school, not a hagwon. Your time here
counts as formal teaching experience at an accredited institution, and
you will have access to Cambridge professional development, curriculum
training, and international collaboration - the kind of experience that

THE POSITION

- Teach English to elementary students following our school curriculum
- 24 teaching periods per week (40 minutes each)
- Student guidance and homeroom-support duties
- Vacation English camps (one week per camp)
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00, weekends free

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

- Base salary: KRW 2,800,000 - 3,000,000/month before tax,
including a KRW 400,000/month housing allowance
- Additional allowances: overtime pay and a Cambridge (CIE) program
allowance
- Vacation: 5 weeks total (including weekends and public holidays)
- 3 weeks winter, 2 weeks summer, guaranteed
- Possible additional week in spring, depending on the school calendar
- National health insurance, national pension, employment insurance,
and industrial accident insurance (applied per nationality and
eligibility)
- Statutory leave under the Korean Labor Standards Act
- Paid sick leave: 10 days per contract (with medical documentation)
- Unpaid sick leave: 10 days per contract
- Konyang University Hospital partnership benefits (discounted health
screenings and funeral hall services)

REQUIREMENTS

- Citizen of the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or
South Africa
- Bachelor's degree
- TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification
- Clean national-level criminal background check
- F-visa holders must meet the same nationality requirements as E-2
applicants
