The Central European Teaching Program is continuing to accept applications to teach in Hungary.

All applicants must be native speakers of English and

citizens of the US, Canada, Ireland or the UK.

Immediate need, apply today!

Schools in Hungary begin September 1st!

  1.  An excellent High School in Budapest with high achieving students
  2.  An elementary school in a charming SE Hungarian town.

For those receptive to placements in smaller communities, you will find you are especially appreciated. Hungary is the size of Indiana, and with its expansive, inexpensive public transportation system, our teachers easily zip to Budapest and other fabulous locales for very few dollars.

The Central European Teaching Program is a woman-owned organization. Established in 1990, we are the oldest and most significant provider of ESL teachers to Hungarian schools. We accept teachers of nearly all genders and ages as long as health and hearing are good. All placements require a bachelor’s degree as well as TEFL certification. If interested, please send a brief letter of introduction to [email protected], and include your teaching resume or fill out this short interest form. We can then set up a time to talk. All applicants MUST be citizens of the US, Canada, the UK or Ireland, NO exceptions.

We do require a program fee to support our many services, as unlike many countries, though Hungary is diligent in providing our teachers their essential documentation, neither the government nor schools cover any of our many expenses. The first year program fee for these remaining openings is $2500. I assure you these are NOT placement fees. We are a full-service organization offering:

  1. All residence and work documents to live and teach in Hungary
  2. Airport pick-up and transportation to your new Hungarian home
  3. In-country orientation online and in-person in Budapest (It is currently in session, but if you are unable to participate in any of it, be assured we will provide relevant materials as well connect you with other teachers)
  4. Net monthly salary currently equivalent to roughly $1400
  5.  A private fully furnished apartment with utilities paid as part of your salary package
  6. Hungarian government medical coverage
  7.  Waiving of Hungarian income tax, which saves you over $2500/year
  8. 24/7 service of our experienced, kind, and attentive Hungarian director, Hajni Vancsik and her staff
  9. Facebook group for teaching tips, travel and assurances
