English Teacher Position – Ron English (July and August Start)

At Ron English, teachers are trusted to lead their classrooms independently through our program while also being part of a school that welcomes and supports collaboration, communication, and shared growth.

Hello! My name is Trevor Crowe, and I am the co-owner and Academic Director at Ron English. We are currently seeking an experienced teacher to join our team of 10 native English-speaking instructors.

As we enter our 9th year, we are seeking a teacher with prior teaching experience in Korea who enjoys working with elementary students and can thoughtfully adapt their teaching across multiple levels.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Our school philosophy is “Happy, Simple, English.”
We aim to foster a safe, calm, and academically supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and gradually building confidence in English.

Our classrooms are active, social, and language-rich. We believe English is learned through meaningful use and interaction — not silent observation — while also recognizing the importance of focused moments for literacy and writing development.

Lessons naturally alternate between interactive speaking activities and calmer periods of reading or writing. Teachers support students in navigating these shifts smoothly, creating a classroom atmosphere that feels structured, relaxed, and supportive rather than rigid or silent.

We value teachers who can maintain lesson structure through clarity, consistency, and positive relationships rather than through strict discipline or control-based management.

About the Program

Students attend classes five days a week, with class sizes capped between six and eight students.

  • Monday–Thursday: Core lessons following our structured curriculum
  • Fridays: Language Lab classes — activity-based lessons connected to weekly themes, collaboratively planned by our teaching team

*The position requires comfort in teaching across a range of ages and levels, ranging from grade one to middle school*

The ideal candidate can adjust pacing, language output, and expectations appropriately across levels while remaining aligned with our curriculum.

Curriculum & Preparation

Our curriculum is fully prepared and provided. Teachers are not expected to design core materials.

Prep time is used to:

  • Focus on lesson delivery and clarity
  • Adjust support for different learners
  • Create or adapt supplementary materials when needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and reflect on student progress
  • Attend to Admin work

Teachers who enjoy guided autonomy, clear structure with room for thoughtful instructional decisions, tend to thrive in our system.
