HI, My name is Hannah, and I’m from the UK and Ireland.
I have been in and out of Korea for the past two years, and I have not been able to stay away. I taught English to students aged 6 to 16, which gave me valuable first-hand insight into what teachers need from their schools. Many of my friends had great teaching experiences, and seeing both sides has helped me in this job has helped me guide others toward schools that best match their expectations. I have lived in many different countries, including the UK and Ireland, but Korea and its eclectic culture are what have made me stay. I also have over three years of experience in recruitment, so I hope that I can help with your job searching journey.
From lively Busan and bustling Incheon to artsy Gwangju and dynamic Ulsan, each city offers its own unique mix of culture, community, and coastline.
Whether you’re teaching English at a school, university, or language academy, you’ll still have plenty of time to explore beautiful beaches, enjoy fresh seafood, and dive into local festivals. Many of these cities also have great transport links, so weekend trips around Korea are easy.
Busan
A vibrant port city in Korea’s southeast, Busan blends dynamic urban life with picturesque natural scenery. It’s renowned for its famous beaches, especially Haeundae and Gwangalli, and offers hiking escapes like Geumjeongsan. Seafood lovers flock to Jagalchi Market, Korea’s top spot for fresh catches. The city’s laid-back coastal vibe makes it a spacious, relaxing alternative to Seoul.
Incheon
One of Korea’s major gateways, Incheon is both a bustling port and the site of Incheon International Airport, ranked among the world’s best. Incheon stands at the forefront of smart city innovation with Songdo International Business District—a model for sustainable urban planning, advanced infrastructure, and digital management, offering green spaces, LEED-certified buildings, and cutting-edge tech integration. Gwangju
Located in Korea’s southwest, Gwangju is steeped in modern Korean history as the site of the 1980 Gwangju Uprising, symbolizing the country’s democratic spirit. Ulsan
Known as Korea’s industrial powerhouse, Ulsan is home to global giants like Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Heavy Industries. Thanks to its thriving manufacturing sectors, the city boasts some of Korea’s highest income levels. But Ulsan also offers unique nature escapes, such as the Whale Museum and the lush Taehwagang River bamboo forest, mixing industry with eco-attractions.
