Hello! We are Be yourself English (BYS), an English learning community based in Korea. We focus not only on English fluency, but also on mindset, self-expression, and meaningful communication.

We are looking for native English teachers who enjoy leading discussion-based classes and creating a warm, respectful learning environment for adult learners.

Most importantly, we are looking for teachers who genuinely care about their students and communicate with warmth and sincerity.

📌 POSITION DETAILS

• Application Deadline: November 1, 2026

• Class Assignments: Beginning in 2027, as classes become available

• Pay: 40,000 KRW per hour

• Students: Adult group classes

• Visa Requirement: Must hold an F visa and be legally eligible to work in Korea

• Curriculum: BYS provides its own curriculum and core teaching materials

📌 CLASS INFORMATION

• Format: Online via Zoom

• Days: Monday–Friday

• Class Size: Approximately 10–15 students

• Class Length: 1 hour / 2 hours / 2.5 hours

• Available Time Blocks (KST)
  Morning: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
  Evening: 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Classes are scheduled within one of the time blocks above and may be 1, 2, or 2.5 hours long. For example, a morning class may be scheduled for any applicable class length between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Teachers typically begin with 1–2 classes.

Once assigned to a class, teachers will generally continue with the same class in future semesters, allowing them to build long-term relationships with their students. Additional classes may be offered over time depending on class availability and scheduling.

📌 HOW CLASS ASSIGNMENTS WORK

This recruitment is intended to connect with teachers who may join BYS throughout 2027 as teaching opportunities become available.

Final acceptance does not necessarily mean an immediate class assignment. When a new class opens or a teaching position becomes available, successful candidates will be contacted first.

We will generally contact teachers approximately 2–3 weeks before the beginning of a semester to confirm their availability and coordinate the class schedule.

Please note that final acceptance does not guarantee an immediate teaching assignment for a specific semester.

📌 2027 SEMESTER SCHEDULE

BYS operates four 10-week semesters per year.

• Semester 1: January 11, 2027

• Semester 2: April 5, 2027

• Semester 3: July 5, 2027

• Semester 4: October 4, 2027

📌 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Someone who feels called to uplift and build up each individual through education

• Strong experience teaching English to adults

• Experience teaching Korean learners

📌 4-WEEK HIRING & TRAINING PROCESS

• Week 1: First Interview

• Week 2: Observe one recorded BYS class

• Week 3: Observe one recorded BYS class

• Week 4: Second Interview + Teaching Demonstration → Final Decision

As part of the hiring process, candidates will watch recordings of actual BYS classes to better understand our teaching style, class flow, and approach to communicating with students.

The interviews, class observations, and teaching demonstration are part of the selection process and are unpaid.

Once a teacher is accepted and assigned to a class, they will complete one additional recorded class observation before beginning their class to prepare for the upcoming semester.
