Part-time jobs teaching EFL to adults and students at Speakingworks in Gunpo City, Kyeonggi-do!

Speakingworks (formerly known as BCM Language Institutes) is the second-largest franchised adult English education center in South Korea, with 19 locations all over the country.

NOTE: All of the details below are tentative, though typical for our schedules. Schedules and pay negotiable in all cases. Applicants already living within a reasonable distance preferred.

1) Early morning adult conversation classes
Location: Right outside Geumjeong Station (Lines 1 & 4)
Number of positions: 1 or 2 native teachers
Student focus: Intermediate proficiency adult professionals. Textbooks provided
Date: Starting January 2, 2018
Days: Monday through Friday
Schedule: First lesson 6:30am ~ 7:20am; Second lesson 7:30am ~ 8:20am
Class length: Two 50-minute lessons
Number of students per class: 3-12
Compensation: 840,000 KRW total for both classes per month
Housing: N/A
Health insurance: N/A
Severance: N/A
Notes: You may also combine this with the second job below.

2) Evening adult conversation classes
Location: Right outside Geumjeong Station (Lines 1 & 4)
Number of positions: 1 or 2 native teachers
Student focus: Intermediate proficiency adult professionals. Textbooks provided
Date: Starting January 2, 2018
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays and alternate Fridays (10 days per month)
Schedule: First lesson 6:35pm ~ 8:05pm; Second lesson 8:10pm ~ 9:40pm
Class length: Two 90-minute lessons
Number of students per class: 3-12
Compensation: 760,000 KRW total for both classes per month
Housing: N/A
Health insurance: N/A
Severance: N/A

3) Daily junior afternoon classes
Location: Right outside Geumjeong Station (Lines 1 & 4)
Number of positions: 1 or 2 native teachers
Student focus: Elementary and middle school students of intermediate proficiency. Textbooks provided.
Dates: Starting January 2, 2018
Days: 2 separate classes, one on Wednesday and one on Friday
Schedule: 4:30pm ~ 6:30pm
Class length: Two 50-minute lessons and 20 minutes of prep time per day
Number of students per class: 3-12
Compensation: 200,000 KRW total for each class per month (total of 400,000 if you take on both jobs)
Housing: N/A
Health insurance: N/A
Severance: N/A
Notes: The Wednesday and Friday class may be taught by different instructors; you don't necessarily have to take on both jobs.

4) Saturday junior classes
Location: Right outside Geumjeong Station (Lines 1 & 4)
Number of positions: 1 or 2 native teachers
Student focus: Elementary and middle school students of intermediate proficiency. Textbooks provided.
Dates: Starting January 5, 2018
Schedule: First lesson 10:00am ~ 1:00pm; Second lesson 2:00pm ~ 4:00pm
Class length: Three 50-minute lessons and 30 minutes of prep time for the first lesson; Two 50-minute lessons and 20 minutes of prep time for the second lesson
Number of students per class: 3-8
Compensation: 300,000 KRW per month for the first class and another 200,000 KRW for the second one per month; total of 500,000 for the whole schedule
Housing: N/A
Health insurance: N/A
Severance: N/A

5) Girls' High School 2-day Winter English Camp
Location: In Shillim, Gwanak-gu, Seoul
Number of positions: 6 native teachers
Student focus: 1st year high school students of low intermediate proficiency
Dates: January 21st and 22nd, 2019 (Monday and Tuesday)
Schedule: 9:30am ~ 4:30pm, with an hour lunch break at 12:30pm
Class length: Six 50-minute sessions each day
Number of students per class: 15-22
Compensation: 360,000 won for both days
Housing: N/A
Health insurance: N/A
Severance: N/A
Notes: As there will be no textbook provided, materials will have to be created following our guidelines. Samples of acceptable materials will be given. Only E2 or F4 visa holders may apply.
