[Role Purpose]
As the Training Consultant (Teacher Trainer) for the EES team, the post will plan and deliver teacher training to Korean school teachers using British Council global products and other prepared session content.

[Main Accountabilities]

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:

• Delivering training to the highest standards of ELT
• Enhancing British Council’s reputation as a world authority in ELT
• Continuing professional development and sharing of best practices


• To plan and deliver high quality teacher training in English (approximately 6 hours per day)
• To produce materials which conform to internal design and branding standards
• To maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues

Main duties:

• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teacher training using British Council’s global products and other prepared session content
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage trainees’ performance throughout the course, and actively promote learner autonomy
• Training-related administrative tasks and course documentation are to be completed and submitted to specified standards and timelines
• Ensure safeguarding and guidleines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy for the following areas:
- Child Protection
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Health and Safety

Pay scale and benefits:

• Pay range: 150 – 170 GBP per day (approximately 6 hours) depending on experience and training background
• Return ticket airfare
• Accommodation for the duration of employment

[Role Requirements]

- Postholder must be eligible for an employment visa in the country of location.

- UK nationals need to apply for a UK DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. In addition, staff should acquire a police check from their current country of residence. All the above need to be applied for prior to post.

- High proficiency in English i.e. full mastery of English across all 4 skills equivalent to user (CEFR C2) IELTS Band 8/9 in each of 4 sections of the academic module.

- Qualification:

1. Minimum/Essential
* Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Dip TESOL or PGCE in a relevant subject
* Undergraduate/university degree

2. Desirable
* Cambridge CELTYL
* CELTA/ DELTA/ CELTYL trainer qualification
* Relevant Master’s Degree

- Role Specific Knowledge & Experiences

1. Minimum/Essential
* At least 2 years full time teacher training experience

2. Desirable
* State sector teacher training
* Relevant British Council global product and industry knowledge (education sector)
