Principal, Global Prodigy Academy in Jeonju, South Korea (Posting name)

Global Prodigy Academy(GPA), located in Jeonju, South Korea, is searching for an inspirational leader to collaborate with parents, staff, the representatives of Jeonju University and students to provide a world-class educational experience for 7-9 grade students. GPA is an international school accredited by WASC and affiliates with Jeonju University.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities
1. The principal oversees the educational operation of the 7-12 grades and provides leadership and supervision to faculty.
2. He/She works alongside the administrative staff and the representative of Jeonju University to carry out the vision of GPA. GPA belongs to International Education and Exchange department. GPA follows the administrative system of Jeonju University and get an approval from the representative of Jeonju University with regard to any changes of school policies and system.
3. She/he is responsible for collaborating with staff and faculty to carry out the operation of the school and for meditating conflicts between Jeonju University and faculty.
4. Strong leadership and oversight will help shape the intentional education, and guide it in accomplishing the overall mission.

Academic Leadership
- Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the vision, mission and objectives of the school
- Provide professional development to faculty in curricular development and in utilizing various instructional methodologies to benefit all students of various learning styles as well as leading Teacher in Service
- Endeavor to be a resource person when faculty need help with their curriculum planning, teaching techniques or methods, and teacher-child or child-parent relationships
- Be responsible to plan and execute a system of parent-teacher conferences (Once a semester)

Administrative Leadership
- Responsible for maintaining current accreditation standards and future accreditation needs from WASC
- Work with administrators to implement personnel policies
- Provide leadership in planning the master schedule in collaboration with the counselor
- Meet regularly with administrators to ensure coordination of programs and prompt problem resolution
- Be available to assist faculty in matters relating to student needs and problems
- Deal directly and frankly with the administrators in an earnest effort to resolve differences of opinion when they exist

Personnel
- Treat all personnel fairly and in a businesslike manner, without favoritism or discrimination, while insisting on performance of duties
- Interview and hire faculty with sound academic training and hearts of students
- Make objective decision with adequate supporting date to administrators in regard to cases of assignment, nonrenewal of contract, or dismissal (We should follow the legal process with dismissal: the one month¡¯s notice of the cancellation of a contract after 2 warning letters with signatures of admin and principal, then the contract can be canceled)
- Evaluate faculty using formal and informal evaluation
- Provide appropriate information to the administrators regarding the evaluations

Business and Finances
- Possess an awareness and understanding of basic business and financial concepts and be able to use these concepts to meet the needs of the school
- With the purchases, approval of the administrators are needed before they are executed

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications
- Teaching experience at middle or high school level
- Master¡¯s degree or Doctor¡¯s degree preferred
- Previous leadership experience (Department chair, Assistant Principal, Dean, etc.)
