Wanted (this is a direct advert by the school, FSES): Established Independent School approx. 30 miles from downtown Seoul seeks an experienced native English teacher, to start during this month (March 2018) or next

Posted By: FSES <[email protected]>
Date: Tuesday, 3 April 2018, at 6:08 a.m.

Teachers with experiences of having taught English in Korea and at a “hakwon” (an after-school private academy) are preferred. Some of the benefits and requirements of working for our school include:

E2 or F visa holder.

Location – Yangpyeong is located in Gyeonggi-do, a province that surrounds Seoul and is within half an hour from Seoul by train, with excellent access to idyllic countryside in a mix of urban and country environments. Many Seoulites choose to live here for the convenience of urban amenities, as well as easy access to the extensive bicycle trails, mountain trekking, and a wide array of outdoor activities. The town is located on the banks of South Han River, with two attractive major riverside parks and all the amenities one may expect from a well-developed mid-sized town in the United States, for instance. Besides the Korail train service, it is also on the Gyeongeui-Joongang subway line (part of Seoul subway), as well as the recently opened bullet train (KTX).

Housing – We will provide a modern up-to-date housing.

Management – The school owners are both American (Korean American) and Korean. They favor a hands-off management style and are always available to assist teachers as needed.

Students – We teach students of all ages, from kindergarten to adults. Our class sizes are small – a maximum of 10, with some smaller. Our teachers see the same students typically at the same times every day, Monday to Friday, allowing them to make a lot of progress together in a short time.

Curriculum – We use internationally-produced textbooks and teachers have a lot of freedom to teach the materials with much discretion. There is space within the curriculum for teachers to implement their own ideas.

Team – We are a small school, with a tight-knit team that maintains a close and supportive working relationship.

Salary – starting from KRW 2.1M and negotiable

Insurance & pension – Four Big Insurances (health, employment, pension, and occupational health & safety) are part of the package and provided.

Severance pay – for employees who have worked at FSES for at least a year, severance pay upon leaving FSES will be paid.

Vacations – for 2 weeks as paid vacations, typically a week each in the summer and winter

Hours and conditions – In principle, the hours are from 10AM to 7PM but there are days when the classes end early around 5:30 or 6PM and this would also depend on your teaching schedule. There is no weekend work.

More information about our school can be found at: We can be contacted by email ([email protected]) or by phone (031 773 7776). We are willing to put an applicant in contact with previous teachers if they have any specific questions about working conditions.

If you are interested in applying for the position, please send your resume to: [email protected]
