Full-time English Lecturer: Graduate School - Ulsan

KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS) is looking to hire a full-time English Lecturer in March, 2018. The school operates on trimesters allowing the adult engineering students to graduate within two years. The student body is comprised of both local Korean citizens and international adults from throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe.

1. Job Description
- Position: Full-time English Lecturer (Non-tenure track, Not Assistant Professor)
- Responsibilities:
1) Provide lectures on technical writing
- Trimester 1 & 2, total contact hours: 8/week
- Trimester 3, total contact hours: 4/week
2) Proofreading student theses and project reports
- Trimester 1 & 2, total hours: 6/week
- Trimester 3, total hours: 12/week
3) Other
- Edit the KINGS Newsletter: 4 volumes a year
- Edit President’s speeches, letters, and other official documents

2. Contract Conditions
- Contract Period: March 1, 2018 – February 28, 2019 (Contract can be renewed based on evaluation)
- Annual Salary: 38 million won
- Taxation: Monthly salary is paid after the deduction of all applicable taxes, according to Korean Tax Law.
- Benefits:
1) Office workspace and a dormitory room on campus will be provided.
- Allowance is not provided if choosing to live off campus.
- Kitchenette is included in dormitory room.
- Monthly maintenance fee for dormitory will be deducted from salary.
2) Health insurance and pension is included; KINGS will pay employer fees.
3) After the completion of the contract, KINGS will pay the expenses of a one-way airfare only to the English Instructor’s home country.

3. Qualifications
- Required: A Master Degree related to English/Education such as English Literature or English Education
- Preferred: Teaching experience with adult learners

6. Hiring Procedure
- Step 1: Document Screening
- Step 2: Open Lecture & Interview
- Deliver a mini-lecture on the subject of writing (15 minutes in length)
- Face-to-face Interview (Phone/Skype interviews will not be permitted)
- Step 3: Employment Offer

7. Additional Notes
- Please be mindful of any changes to Korean immigration policy (criminal background check and diploma authentication) and how that might affect your visa status when acquiring new employment.
- Submitting false information will result in immediate contract termination.
