Four Strands English Learning Center is seeking two contracted part-time teachers for our children's English language program starting in August.

Work Conditions:
Students are in grades 1-6 and class size is a maximum of 8. We do not teach kindergarten.
Pay will be a salary of 2 2.4 million won a month depending on experience and qualifications. We do not provide housing or sponsor E2 visas.
Each position will teach a total of 16 hours a week, from 3 to 7pm, plus preparation time, Monday-Tuesday & Thursday-Friday.
Most Wednesdays and all weekends are off. Wednesdays are tutorial days and used for make-up classes.
There are three weeks of paid vacation per year for salaried employees (i.e. contracted for 16 hours a week).
Part-time applicants (less than a full 16-hour contract) will be considered at an hourly rate of 25,000 to 35,000 won. Overtime tutoring is available for contracted teachers at the part-time hourly rate.

Required Qualifications
Candidates should be a Korean citizen or permanent resident holding an F2, F4, F5 or F6 visa.
All applicants should have strong spoken and written English proficiency (minimum CEFR B2).
Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor degree (ideally in English, linguistics, or education) and a TESOL certificate from a university or recognized international program (e.g. CELTA, SIT, or Trinity TESOL). Current TESOL MA students are also welcome to apply. Please be sure to note the type of TESOL qualification you hold and who awarded it.
The ideal candidates would have some Korean language ability and be familiar with content & language integrated learning (CLIL), phonics instruction, and/or extensive reading methods.
All applicants will need to pass a criminal check (from Korea and their home country).
International degrees will need to be apostilled (or equivalent for nationals whose country is not part of the international apostille system, e.g. Canada).
F-visa holders will need a medical health check.

We are currently offering two positions:

1. Classroom CLIL Teacher: This teacher will teach content-based language classes to a maximum of eight children (elementary school age). The classes will use a fixed curriculum & set of text books. The lowest level also includes phonics instruction. The teacher will need to be able to use an interactive white board and common educational software as part of the lesson. Training will be provided.

2. Extensive Reading Library Teacher: This teacher will act as a reading tutor in our library. The teacher will monitor students and assist them while they do sustained silent reading. They will also interview students about their books when they finish and record their accomplishments in a personalized reading log. The teacher will need to be able to use basic library cataloging software, excel spread sheets, and a simplified learning management system. Training will be provided. There are no formal whole-class lessons; however, the teacher will have to conduct oral story reading sessions twice a week.
