Honam University, situated in the city of Gwangju, is accepting applications from qualified teachers for the Fall 2014 academic term

Terms of Employment

l Position: Assistant Professor by Dept. of Hotel Management
l 12 teaching hours (in credit and non-credit programs) per week.
l Overtime, compensated at 23,000 won per hour.
l Teaching English and Managing Student Internship Programs
l Summer and winter intensive programs
l Maximum 6 weeks vacation per year (maybe more depending on summer/winter program schedule)
l One-year contract, October 1, 2014. – September 30, 2015. (renewable based on job performance evaluation)

Salary and Benefits

l 26 million won annual income(for master’s degree with two years teaching minimum, hakwon and private teaching excluded)
l Health insurance
l Studio style apartment on campus
l The campus is located in scenic and historic Gwangju, Korea's sixth largest city, nestled at the foot of Mudeung Mountain. Gwangju is renowned for its fine restaurants, lively artistic community, and historic traditions. It's a 30- minute flight (3 hours by KTX train or 4 hours by bus) from Seoul.

l Native English speakers.
l Minimum Master of Arts in TESOL or related field.
l Minimum two years of Teaching Experience in TESOL or TEFL for those who have an MA.
l Preferred who has experience of managing Internship program or majoring in the field of Hotel management.

2. A copy of diploma(s) / degree certificates. You may submit copies at the beginning stage, but should be prepared to provide originals when asked later in the hiring process.
3. A copy of university transcripts. You may submit copies at the beginning stage, but should be prepared to provide a sealed one when asked. A sealed transcript is needed for visa issuance. The sealed transcript is to be submitted to the Immigration Office. A person responsible from your university needs to sign on the sealed envelope of your transcript.
4. A copy of your passport showing date of birth and nationality
5. Two letters of reference
6. Employment certificates and certificates of career (for current and previous teaching experience)
7. A federal criminal record check from your country of origin (for applicants who pass the interview).
