English Faculty Position at Jeonju University, Korea

English Faculty Position
The Liberal Arts Department in Jeonju University is looking for qualified faculty members to join its English teaching faculty from March 1, 2014. Jeonju University has continued making superb strides in educational development and continues to strengthen its English program each year. Our department prides itself in its low turnover of foreign staff, with most teachers staying for an average of four years. The positions available are for non-tenure track faculty who teach English courses within the general education program. Only Candidates with an M.A. or higher will be considered. Candidates must have at least two years of teaching experience, excluding language institutes. Teaching responsibilities in our program include courses in English Conversation, English Listening, English Reading and Writing, Speech & Drama, Video English and other courses offered within and outside of the department. The application process is open from Thurs, December 26 through Fri, January 17, 2014. Required Documents
1) a resume with recent photo
2) a cover letter
3) copies of diplomas & transcripts (please note: official (sealed) transcripts and original diplomas will be requested soon after the selection date to process work visa)
4) two letters of recommendation from previous employers in the field of education
5) a copy of your passport
6) a copy of your alien registration card (for candidates residing in Korea)
7) a copy of your baptismal certificate or pastorí»s recommendation letter
8) a copy of your criminal background check after hiring

Selection Schedule:
Candidate selection notification: Thesday, January 21, 2014.
Teaching evaluation and interview: Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
Candidates selected for interviews within Korea will need to deliver a 10-minute teaching lesson in front of the selection committee. Candidates selected for interviews from outside of Korea will need to post online or send in a 10-minute video lesson of themselves teaching to jjuresumes@gmail.com by Thursday, January 23, 2014.

University: Jeonju University (located in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, South Korea)
Department: Liberal Arts
Position: Non-tenure track English faculty position
Contract Term: 2-year contract (renewable)
Teaching Areas: Freshman/Sophomore English Conversation, English Listening, Reading & Writing, Speech & Drama, Video English, etc.
Qualifications: Native English-speaker; Only M.A. candidates or higher with 2+ years experience required. No language institute work experience will be accepted. Christian preferred
Teaching Hours: 16 hours of teaching per week plus one hour in the English Cafe
Salary: 20,000,000~30,000,000 won/year (pay dependent on degree & teaching experience)
Extra teaching hours & pay: Overtime payment will be paid for teaching over your regular hours or during vacation.
Vacation: summer and winter vacation (approximately 8 weeks each)
Health Insurance and Korea Teachers Pension: Both are provided following the regulations of Korean law.
Housing: A housing allowance of 330,000 won per month is provided for teachers. Financial Support for Research: Faculty members can apply for research grants with the Korea Research Foundation (KRF). Also, research funds are available for published research papers within nationally recognized published journals.

The population of Jeonju is approximately 600,000 people and is known for its delicious cuisine in Korea.
