About Teaching in Korea

As a teacher in the South Korea you will enjoy some of the best employment conditions in Asia. Besides being paid well and having free housing, you will be able to live comfortably and save a great deal of money. Typically teachers can expect to save $800 - $1,200 USD a month depending on location and spending habits. This means that you can save up to $14,000 USD in one year!

Contract Benefits

Housing Free housing provided by your school
Health Insurance: 50% of health insurance
Airfare: 1.1 million Won reimbursement for each one way ticket ($1,000 USD)
Vacation: 10 vacation days + Korea public holidays
Bonus: One month's salary ($1,900 - $2,150 USD)
Salary: 2.1 - 2.4 million Won depending on experience ($1,900 - $2,150 USD)

Job Information

Work Days: 5 days a week
Teaching Hours: 30 hours per week
Total Hours: 40 hours work week
Class Size: 8 -16 students
Hours: Afternoon and evening work schedule
Grade Level: Elementary and Middle school positions available

Requirements

Citizenship: Must hold a passport from: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, or South Africa
Language: Must be a native English speaker
Education: BA degree required
Experience: None required; but TEFL is preferred
Criminal History: You must have a clean criminal record in order to get a visa
