Yonsei University-Wonju-Twelve Week Paid Vacation-19 hours

After application submission, candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by email or telephone. Interviews for March 2010 positions will be held November 21st (Saturday) and 28th (Saturday), 2009. Interviews at other times may be possible by appointment (including Webcam for overseas applicants).

Qualifications:

Priority will be given to applicants with the following qualifications (in order of preference):
•Master's degree in TEFL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or any other
related field with at least 1 year of university-level teaching experience
•Master's degree in any discipline with 2 or more years of university-level
teaching experience and/or a TEFL/TESOL certificate of at least 120 hours
•Bachelor's degree in a related field such as English or Linguistics with 2
or more years of teaching experience at the university level and/or a TEFL or
TESOL certificate of at least 120 hours.
•Bachelor's degree in any field with a CELTA or DELTA certificate and/or 2 or
more years of EFL or ESL teaching experience
•Bachelor's degree in any field with a TEFL or TESOL certificate of at least
120 hours and/or 2 or more years of EFL or ESL teaching experience

Job Description:

Applicants will be required to teach speaking and listening credit classes 19 hours per week during the Spring and Fall semesters, 20 hours per week during Summer and Winter semesters. You may also be required to teach other auxiliary classes (i.e. English Adult Conversation, Global Village, TOEIC Speaking, TOEFL Writing).

Base Salary:

The base salary is 2,200,000 KRW per month with the possibility of making an average of 2,425,000 KRW per month. Upon completion of the contract, a severance of one month's base salary will be paid.

Overtime Opportunities:

Throughout the year, opportunities to work overtime become available at a rate of 30,000 WON per hour. This overtime can be gained by teaching extra courses or participating in camps that are offered by the International Education Center.

Starting Date:

The starting date for this position will be March 1st, 2010. Please be aware that a two-day mandatory teacher training/orientation session will be held during the final week of February.

Housing:

Staff members are provided with a rent-free, furnished, one- or two-bedroom apartment close to campus (about 10 minutes walking distance).

Vacations:

A total of twelve (12) weeks paid vacation, not including national holidays.

Additional Benefits:

New teachers will be eligible for:
(a) reimbursed 50% of a round-trip ticket or 100% of a one-way ticket from a
country outside of Asia (in KRW) at the conclusion of their one-year contract

(b) reimbursed up to 500,000 KRW (within S.E. Asia) for one (1) round-trip
airfare (i.e. a visa run) at the conclusion of their one-year contract.
(c) teachers able to transfer their existing visa will be reimbursed the
transfer fee (approximately 60,000 KRW)

Those candidates selected to move on to the next round MUST bring the
following documents with them to the interview:

1. A photocopy of your university diploma
2. Two (2) copies of your resume
3. Three (3) letters of recommendation

Successful candidates will be REQUIRED TO SUBMIT the following documents by January 2nd, 2010:

1. Original university diploma
2. University transcripts (mailed directly to our institution from your
university)
3. Two (2) copies of your resume
4. Three (3) letters of recommendation
5. Three (3) passport size photos
6. Release letter (from your current employer)
7. Official work record in Korean language (°æ·Â Áõ¸í¼­)
8. Criminal Background Check (Apostilled/Notarized)
