An exciting opportunity to help develop a new learning hub for the recently opened and expanding middle school campus.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the library collection and ensure effective storage, access to and loan of teacher resources;
• Establish and ensure the library policies are implemented;
• Ensure a safe and attractive environment for all students;
• Oversee the development of a curriculum for library skills, information literacy skills, and research skills across Middle School age range;
• Collaborate with Primary School and High School teacher librarians to implement a consistent and cohesive library curriculum is offered across Y1-12;
• Teach students how to locate print and online sources, and how to use the library catalog and resources;
• Teach students research skills and information literacy, media literacy skills;
• Plan units with subject teams and offer suggestions to use the library sources;
• Support teachers with resources across all curriculum areas;
• Collaborate with teaching staff on special events – such as Book Week.
• Actively participate in professional networks locally and internationally.
• Gather and analyze data regarding book use and using this to focus on future purchases.
• Coordinate roles and daily tasks of library staff.
• Responsible for the appraisal of library staff.
• Facilitate professional development for teaching staff in library use.
• Develop and administer the library budget.

Education Requirement:
•Bachelor's degree in related field required, advanced degree(s) preferred;

•3+ years’ experience in the educational industry, additional teaching field(s) preferred;
•Experience working in an International School and/or setting a plus;
•Good communication skills (spoken and written). Training in student support preferred;
•Valid teaching certification is mandatory;
•Teaching Degree strongly preferred;
•Experience with second language learners preferred;
•Educators with excellent communication skills, who show initiative and who can easily adapt to change.

Salary and Benefits:
- Salary range RMB25,000 - RMB33,000 per month before tax.
- Boarding campus allowance - RMB43,200 per annum, paid in 12 months (the High School is a boarding campus, not applicable to the Primary School English Teacher)
- Pension (7.5% of annual salary paid)
- Contract renewal bonus

Pre-tax Bonus
Renew for 1 year RMB 5,000
Renew for 2 years RMB 18,000
Renew for 3 years RMB 30,000
