The Job
We are a transparently managed, high quality, full service daycare preschool in Shenzhen, China. We are now holding interviews for professional and caring English language teachers to join our team.

We provide high quality care and education for children aged from 20 months to 3 years old using the Canadian standards ELECT, Early Learning for Every Child Today, for infants and toddlers. The ELECT Canadian general education system is the core curriculum of our school, and appropriate development goals are set according to the age of the child. Children are immersed in an English learning environment and supported by trained teachers with an Early Education background. Teachers should understand each individual development of the child, evaluate and plan for all learning skills including social, emotional, cognitive, physical and literacy development.

We provide 1:3 to 1:5 teacher and children ratios within the classroom. We also offer two special courses for our children which are golf and Lego courses, and each classroom is divided into teaching areas according to teaching needs, suitable for reading, music, construction, writing, art, intelligence and individual learning. We provide leadership training programs that promote social and life skills, fostering the ability for students to plan and perform tasks with confidence. Additionally, healthy lunches and snacks are provided and we also have bodily care routines for diapering, feeding and napping.

We are passionately dedicated to using materials and methods that ensure every success of the learners. Too many bright children fail to reach their highest potential because of boring classroom delivery of traditional curriculum that fails to develop a love of reading and a consequent love of learning. With on premises Canadian management, we provide unwavering professional support, on going and rigorous academic training, and a scintillatingly stimulating work environment.

Shenzhen The City
Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong (located just south of Shenzhen), the location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in Shenzhen. From then on, Shenzhen become a highlighted city of China, one known for its rapid economic growth.

Shenzhen is considered as one of the richest cities in the country which offers foreigners a great insight into contemporary China. From a small fishing village 30 years ago, Shenzhen has turned into a city filled with dynamic energy and on its way to becoming a world class metropolis. Shenzhen is also known for its famous architecture, bars, restaurants, art scenes and shopping areas.

Main Responsibilities
o Maximum of 30 teaching hours per week (mainly playing games and activities with our kids) o Maximum of 10 admin hours per week
o Monday to Friday work schedule (7:55am to 5:00pm)
o Class size: 8 to 16 students per class-Student age: 20 months to 3 years old
o Deliver classes with energy and enthusiasm, using immersive learning techniques such as story telling, singing, dialogue and role playing in combination with formal exercises
o Communicate with our young learners in an engaging, age appropriate way, ensuring that language learning is both effective and fun
o Measure progress and educational results through the delivery of formal and informal assessments and progress reports
o Partner closely with Chinese Support Staff to maintain strong relationships with parents, ensuring high level of program engagement and outstanding service
oPrepare print materials, technology and supplemental materials prior to the start of each lesson

o Excellent salary: 19,000 to 25,000 RMB per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
o Flight reimbursement on contract completion: 2,000 RMB-Airport pick up and 5 nights hotel reception upon arrival

o All Chinese public holidays plus fully paid 2 weeks summer, 2 weeks winter and 1 week Christmas holidays

o Bachelor degree or above required
o TEFL certificate 120 hours above (if you have 2 years teaching experience a TEFL certificate is not required) (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL, est. 1993, 50% discounts:
o Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland
o 1 year of young learners teaching experience required
o A passion for educating young learners and a keen interest in their development
o Ability to command the attention of children in an engaging and compelling manner
o Energetic, enthusiastic, animated approach to storytelling and delivering content to learners
o Clean criminal record
