The Job

We are a professional English language education school in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian province, in China. We provide the full spectrum of English classes, including classes for young learners, IELTS and TOEFL preparation classes, general English classes and top-up classes for high school students. We're looking for enthusiastic English teachers to join our international team.

We are committed to the student's comprehensive educational development. We focus not only on academic, we also educate our students to develop integrity and further enhance their intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills and international perspectives.

Our goal is to create a relaxed and friendly environment to enable students to gain confidence in their spoken English. We take professionalism in teaching seriously, and as part of that offer regular professional development sessions to assist our staff in their own development, enabling them to reach higher standards both in the short term and in the future. Do you want to be part of a team of professional and fun educators, dedicated to providing high quality English language tuition to our students? If so then we would love to hear from you.

Most people have not heard of Fuzhou, but why would you? After all it's only a city of some 6 million people. Fuzhou is a small Chinese city, and capital of Fujian province. It is coastal, surrounding by mountains and in 2014 was ranked 7th in China for air quality.

Fuzhou has existed as a settlement for around 2000 years and has played an important role in Chinese history, being one of the main trading ports with the West. Much of this history remains in the city, particularly examples of Qing and Ming dynasty architecture.

A temperate climate

Fuzhou has a sub-tropical climate. Temperatures in the summer regularly get over 35C (95F) but never dip below 5C (41F) in the winter.

Old and new

The city is constantly changing with new skyscrapers appearing every week but the heart of the city remains. From tiny little side streets with 10RMB noodle bars, to quirky coffee shops, lush parks and working temples Fuzhou has a lot of character.

Staying connected

5 hours from Shanghai by bullet train (or a 90 minute flight), around the same distance to Hong Kong. We are also a short flight from Taipei and have direct connections to many other major Chinese and Asian cities including Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Reviews from Current and Previous ESL Teachers

''One of the best things about my current school, that separates it from the other training centre・s I・ve worked at, is they listen to you. I know that seems like an obvious thing most schools will do, however I・ve found that outside the classroom we don・t get a lot of respect. That・s not the case here, all my suggestions were listened to and actual change was made. Now I am in charge of all the foreign teachers and we are making a real difference to the students and the school.''- Chris (Assistant Manager)

''My name is Tina, and I・ve been in Fuzhou for nearly 3 years and have worked in all different types of educational institutions. I started working for my current school from November 2018, from then to now I've grown to like the school more and more. Firstly, it has a nice environment, good, helpful co-workers and of course I enjoy their teaching method. I get to practice new teaching methods which include working with flashcards and TPR. Also, working with different age groups helps me to improve my teaching skills. There are so many things here for me to learn.'' - Tina (ESL Teacher).

''I've worked for a lot of different schools in China and my current school is definitely one of the good ones. There are never any issues with pay, and teachers are never required to do unpaid overtime or change their schedules last minute or anything like that. What's more, you're completely supported without being micromanaged. There are great textbooks to follow, resources to use and experienced teachers on hand to offer guidance, but you're given a lot of freedom to plan your classes and encouraged to be creative. One of the best things about the job is the light workload, never more than 24 working hours in a week.'' - Caine (Senior Teacher)
