Summary:

The Vice-Principal’s main responsibility is to create and administer the high school curriculum for second-language English learners who have a desire to study abroad for college. The position also calls for strong leadership, supervision, and support of teachers. The curriculum should be designed with academic excellence, holistic emotion growth, and international world views in mind. The position will be filled by someone who is success-minded and has a track record of facilitating and implementing high-achieving teaching programs.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals to support college-readiness and academic success for all students.
• Lead the curriculum development and drive rapid and dramatic instructional improvements by implementing strategies in line with the priority areas identified in the school development plan.
• Develop a supportive environment for teachers that includes leadership, collaboration, growth, and professional development.
• Analyze students’ achievement results to identify areas of needs.
• Develop the academic programs to meet the standards and requirements of international accreditation requirements.
• Comply with all Dalton’s school policies, Chinese national laws, and legal agreements.
• Assume responsibilities for implementation and observance of all school’s policies and regulations by the staff and students.
• Ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the high School.
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for students, staff, and families.
• Direct and approve high school publications for admissions and marketing purposes.
• Assist HR department with teaching faculty’s annual recruitment plan and oversee the recruitment and hiring of qualified staff.
• Apply teacher and staff performance management systems in a way that ensures a culture of continuous improvement, support, and accountability.
• Actively advocate for and engage families and the local community.
• Liaise with the Admissions Department concerning student applications and admissions to the high School.
• Work with the all staff to ensure an enjoyable and high-quality learning environment for students across the high school.
• Monitor student performance.
• Oversee student academic counselling, college admission counseling, and course selection.
• Assist with the high school’s budget creation and monitor expenditures.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Education and valid teaching license.
o Masters in TESOL or Education Management preferred
• Experience: At least two years of school administration, supervision, and curriculum design experience.
• Non-Criminal Record Certificate
• ESL training and interest in teaching and working with non-native English speaking students and school faculty.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret leading educational journals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Candidate should be from US, UK, Canada, or Australia.

Required Skills:
Computer skills: General knowledge of computers and the ability to use technology for research, data management, communications, and other instruction is a must.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands: Ab to perform duties normally associated with school management. Medical Check-up required by Chinese government should be satisfied according to relevant procedures.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary: The highly competitive compensation package for qualified applicants is dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and will be determined by Dalton’s salary scale for senior administrators
Meal Allowance: Meal allowance for every working day.
Holidays: All Chinese statutory holidays.
Preferential Policy of Teachers’ Children Entering School: The school will provide tuition-discount enrollment into the school for dependents of principals or other teaching staff according to the school policy.
Air tickets Allowance: Up to 20,000 RMB (~ about 3,000 USD)
Housing Allowance: The school will support principals with certain amount of housing allowance monthly for renting a well-facilitated two bedroom apartment within 5 KM distance away from the school or school may provide well-facilitated apartments for utilizing.
Visa Fee: The school will reimburse up to RMB 2,000 in total for visa issuance fees incurred at home and abroad.
Commercial Insurance: Includes medical insurance, life insurance or social insurance according to related stipulations of the state, province and municipality.
Annual Physical Examination: The school will provide annual physical examination free of charge for employees.
