Second Language Studies, ESL, History, and Science Teachers Needed in Hangzhou, China

The philosophy of Keystone is founded on a simple belief that every child has unawaken gifts and education is the only way for these gifts to be shared. Founded in 2012, Keystone’s mission is to bring the foundations of Western and Eastern styles of Education together to give Chinese students, K-12 and older, skills that are on par with native English-speaking students. With its management team, all having a PhD and/or master’s degree in English, education, management and/or psychology from renowned universities in China and abroad, Keystone is in exceptional hands. Keystone seeks to empower students by promoting diligent learning attitudes, linguistic skills and civic responsibility. It is our hope that our students become well versed in both Chinese and Western culture so that they may become successful global citizen and achieve in personal and academic sectors.

Classroom characteristics:
• After-school program
• Class of 1-12 students
• Student’s age from 10-18
• Courses offered: English, History, Geography, Public Speaking, English Literature, Applied Science
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• 30 working hours including maximum of 25 hours of teaching per week.
• Teaching hours: evening and weekend (two days off per week)
• Prepare lesson plans based on the pre-made Keystone Curriculum.
• Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment, which is conducive to children’s learning.
• Prepare classroom activities for students.
• Manage and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Attend all Keystone Events and Staff Meetings.
• Represent Keystone in a positive manner at all times.
• Carry out other Ad Hoc requests as necessary as Keystone grows and progresses.
The minimum requirements for the teaching candidate are:
- Fluent English-speaker
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Word.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum);
- TEFL, TESOL, EFL, or related certification or at least two years of teaching experience;
- No criminal record;
- In good health condition;
- Outgoing and passionate about helping young students to learn;
- Capable of quickly adapting to a different cultural and social environment.
The desirable requirements are:
- Have a M.A. or Ph.D. in Education, History, Second Language Studies, EFL, or related field
- Able to share skills in music, drama, art, sports, and/or other creative endeavors
- Familiar with collaborative learning and various learning styles
- Knowledgeable about online and other non-traditional class presentations
- Have at least two years teaching K-12 students
- Have experience in China or another foreign country

The Compensation for the fulltime teacher is as follows:
- Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience – Monthly salary starts at 12,000 RMB+2000 RMB housing allowance
- Reimbursement of two-way economy-class airfare between the teacher’s home country and Hangzhou for one-year-long contract (up to $1500)
- Work permit in China that allows the teacher to leave/re-enter the country multiple times.
- Comprehensive Accident Insurance for the teacher under the age of 60 for the entire contract period, which covers major expenses for hospitalization;
- Monthly commute allowance of RMB 150;
- 5 days paid leave annually + statutory holidays in China + between contract vacations- Performance-based bonus in addition to salary;
- Free airport pickup;
- Free temporary residence (up to one week) for the first time arriving teacher;
- Tourist trips in and outside of Hangzhou
