The U.S. – China Business and Culture Exchange, Inc. (UCBCEC), in conjunction with Kaplan University’s partner school, Jinhua Polytechnic, seeks an ESL and Finance/Accounting instructors for a unique teaching experience in the People’s Republic of China beginning in late August, 2017.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic educators with a sense of humor, adventure and an interest in Chinese culture to help improve the Accounting proficiency of first and second year college students. These students will seek admission to Kaplan University at Hagerstown for completion of a bachelor of science in Business Accounting.

The ESL curriculum aims to prepare students to pass the ITEP Core examination for entrance to the University. Emphasis will be on ESL subject matter support in Accounting/Finance. Significant focus is on speaking and listening skills, reading comprehension and composition. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and TESOL certification. Previous experience is preferred. Curriculum development skills and a willingness to innovate in the creation of supplemental materials will be helpful.

For opening position in Finance/Accounting, candidates must hold U.S. citizenship, be native speakers of English and have a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Candidates will have at least 2 years of teaching experience and subject matter expertise in Corporate Finance, U.S. Accounting and Taxation and Internal Controls and Auditing. A willingness to innovate in terms of classroom methodology and creation of supplemental materials will be helpful.

Jinhua is a friendly city of 4 million people located in eastern China, approximately 3 hours train ride from Shanghai and 90 minutes train ride from the garden city of Hangzhou. It has a temperate climate, and its people are curious, helpful and welcoming.

Monthly salaries are ranging between RMB 11,500 and RMB 16,500 depends on the experience and qualification. Benefits include a 1-year renewable contract, return travel stipend, visa processing, health/accident insurance, paid holidays and vacations, free housing and utilities.
