Ao Jia Foreign Language School is hiring a full-time English teacher for the duration of one year. Our school, run by a wife-husband team, Helen and John, has employed and accommodated many teachers in the past fifteen years. We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position by September 2017.
  OUR SCHOOL
Ao Jia Foreign Language School is located in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. The school is fully-licensed by municipal and provincial governments. It has been providing foreign teachers with work visas from the beginning. Ao Jia has become over the years well-known in the city for its standards of teaching and the quality of its instructors. Helen Chen, the school principal, is TESOL-certified and has studied extensively in Australia and Canada.
  THE POSITION
Our school offers a comprehensive program for English learning, with a focus on high-end courses. Students move upwards through our established curriculum outside of their school system. We also provide IELTS, TOEFL and SAT preparation courses to outstanding individuals who have the desire to study abroad.

The average amount of teaching for this position per week is twenty-five hours. Though not required, extra hours are available at an overtime rate. Preparation required for the program is greatly reduced after first round of teaching. The position entails five workdays per week and no office hours.
  THE CITY
Qinhuangdao is a seaside city renowned for its beaches. Not far away are the famous sightseeing locations of Beidaihe - China’s summer capital, Laolongtou - the starting point of the Great Wall, and Shanhaiguan - the “First Pass Under Heaven”. In addition, Beijing is two hours away by high-speed train, making it perfect for weekend trips. Qinhuangdao is fast becoming one of China's most dynamic cities. The city has an active foreign community, and it is a great place to study and practice Mandarin Chinese.
  LIVING ENVIRONMENT
Qinhuangdao’s cost of living is lower than that of large cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai. Our salary will guarantee you a very comfortable lifestyle, with potential to save money. You will only be responsible for your own food and telephone bills. The apartment is a short walk from school, at the heart of the city. The furniture and appliances are new, including DVD player, television, refrigerator, microwave oven, washing machine, modern shower, air conditioner, and Internet access.
  WHAT WE OFFER

  • 9000 RMB per month in salary.
  • 1400 USD flight reimbursement, upon completion of a one-year contract.
  • 12 days of paid vacation time.
    • We accommodate teachers to have three separate vacations through out the year. Used in conjunction with weekends and schedule adjustments, the amount of away-time totals 30 days. Detailed schedule available upon request.
  • Fully furnished housing provided.
  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance.
  YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native speaker from United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, or New Zealand.
  • Bachelor degree from a recognized university required.
  • TESOL, CELTA, or TEFL certificate required.
  • Experience in teaching preferred.
  • Ability to produce Certificate of No Criminal Record per visa requirement.

This is a small, family-run school, so teachers have a closer relationship with their students and bosses than at most schools. Helen and John treated me and my girlfriend like their own children and were always thinking about what we needed. We felt like the school was a second home.
  Josh from Texas, USA

Unlike at other English schools around Asia, you are not just expected to baby-sit at this school. The higher age range and ability of the students meant I was able to teach effectively, and the one-on-one teaching style really helped me get to know my students and their culture, and even make some friendships.
  Taylor from Indiana, USA
