An Australian employer is looking to fill the positions of Director of Studies and Teacher in a High School in the beautiful city of Dalian.

We are a well-established private school based in Australia, with an increasing number of overseas partnerships. We are putting together a team of motivated people to help us set up a new program in Dalian, beginning February, 2014. You don’t need to be an Aussie, but you do need to be a native speaker. We would prefer you to have some teaching experience in China.

Director of Studies

You will be working with the leaders of the high school to oversee a program which prepares students for overseas studies. Some of this will include IELTS preparation and some will include Business Foundation studies. There will be ample support from a management team in Australia with many years of experience in Education around the world.

Ideally you will have leadership experience in the field of education and a qualification related to TESL. There will be 20 hrs a week of teaching and about 5 hrs of consultation/analysis. The course materials will be prepared and you will be teaching in classrooms fitted with multimedia.

Salary will begin at 18,000 RMB per month and your private accommodation is free and included in the package. The initial contract will be for one semester with the option to extend after that contract ends. The salary will be renegotiated for the right person.

You need to have experience teaching English as a second language and preferably you will have some experience living and teaching in China. Some familiarity with the IELTS will also be an advantage in the program.

Salary will begin at 13,000 RMB per month and your private accommodation is free and included in the package. As with the DoS, the initial contract will be for one semester, but we hope you will be able to continue on beyond that and we are willing to renegotiate the compensation for the right person.
Other information

The school will provide the necessary “Z” visa and assistance in getting set up in Dalian. In order to get the visa, the Chinese government requires applicants to be under 60 yrs of age from a country which uses English as the local language, to have at least a Bachelor’s degree and two years teaching experience.
