Oxford Language Center (OLC) has been a leader in the best quality English language instruction in Guatemala City since 2004 - were celebrating 15 years this year! OUR PROFESSIONAL PROMISE
We offer a two-year renewable contract as a full-time member of staff earning a base salary of Q10,000($1333.00) for 35 contact hours per week working Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. You will have some flexible hours as you will work around our teachers teaching schedule and other staff needs.

OUR CULTURAL IMMERSION PROMISE
You are living in Guatemala and we want you to be able to take full advantage of your time here. We have a dedicated team leader focused on making your time in Guatemala as personally rewarding as it is professionally rich. We include 3 hours of Spanish classes a week so you can confidently navigate your new surroundings. We provide your first week (six nights) housing, close to the school and shared with our teachers with the option of continuing to live there through a private agreement made between yourself and the landlord. For when you want to explore other parts of the country, there are a number of national holidays and time to travel. Finally, we will support you in the visa renewal process, a key part of Guatemalan expat culture!

MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS
Native English speaker
CELTA or equal second-language teaching qualification
At least two years teaching a foreign language (not necessarily English)
Bachelor's degree (if your teaching qualification isnt a degree)
Willingness to sign up to a two-year renewable contract
Positive, flexible, hardworking, self-motivated and disciplined

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years experience teaching English as a foreign language
Experience training teachers
Experience developing a teacher training programme
Experience observing and developing teachers

CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recruitment: Lead and manage teaching staff recruitment, on-boarding, induction, training and development
2. Professional Development - manages and develops program of observations, self-reflection and training for all teachers.
2. Course Management - manages and develops in-house ESL course as the program grows and changes.
3. Communication - Creates transparency and ease of access to information through clear and detailed reports, emails, and Google Drive documents.
4. Organisation - creates systems to keep track of training program - ESL and Exam preparation.
5. Leads, Manages, and Holds Accountable - Responsible for the success of the program in terms of feedback from students on teachers and teachers on the training program.
