About the role

You値l be part of a British Council team training up primary school teachers as master trainers across Bangladesh, to help improve both their teaching and English language skills. This will involve planning and English competency and classroom methodology courses, assessing teacher performance in the classroom and giving feedback to help them improve. Using your skills, you値l help to create a group of 1,800 master trainers. They will then go on to advise and support teachers across Bangladesh.

What you need

If you have experience of teacher training and teaching English, we値l give you the chance to help young people build better futures by improving the quality of primary school teaching across an entire country. With a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL qualification, and experience of living and working in challenging environments, you値l understand the various pressures on teachers in different countries and how to adapt best practice for them.

Your contract

Over the course of your 13-month contract, you値l work with one other British Council teacher trainer at a Primary Teachers Training Institute in Bangladesh. This begins with a thorough, three-week induction programme including basic Bengali language training. Then you値l work a five-day week, with five contact hours a day, in three 14-week blocks.
