***Summer Camp New York & Malibu, California ESL Teacher***

Kings Summer is a sister organization of Kings Education - a leading group of international colleges in the UK and USA. We have been running successful summer vacation courses for younger students for decades. At Kings, our summer programs are designed to be both structured and fun. This way, our students are happy, enthusiastic, and motivated to learn.

We are looking for enthusiastic ESL Teachers who have a keen interested in working with international students to create a successful teaching, activity and sightseeing program.

Join our team during the month of July for an exciting summer working with international students at Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA or Concordia College, Bronxville, NY.

The main role of the Teacher is to provide ESL instruction to our international students. Teachers are expected to teach 15 or 30 hours per week (depending on center structure) in addition to performing a number of day time and evening activity sessions and a full-day excursion or airport transfers. All Teachers are expected to participate in meal and bedtime duties as scheduled and attend regular meetings and workshops.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To help with testing and placement of students
To provide ESL instruction
Attendance at regular staff meetings and teacher development workshops
To monitor and record student attendance
To monitor and counsel students on academic matters
To ensure students are prepared in class for excursions
To submit regular specified academic paperwork to Director of Studies (work records, class registers, completed reports)
To lead and supervise of a wide range of sporting, social and interest-based activities
To promote activities to students and prepare activities as directed
To lead and supervise off-site excursions or an airport transfer once per week
To assist with meeting and greeting/checking in students on arrival and helping with departure transfers
To ensure the Kings policy on child safeguarding and student welfare is followed
Regular assistance with control of discipline, observance of time-keeping, etc. both at night-time and meal-times
Any other duties as directed by line manager
Kings is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will need to undergo a background check and must be eligible to work in the USA.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

University degree
Recognized teacher training qualification (CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL, Public school teaching or equivalent)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Energy, enthusiasm, and empathy with children/ teenagers
Ability to lead a group of students on and off campus

Desirable attributes include:

Teaching experience, preferably with young learners
Previous summer camp/ center experience
Interest/ ability in areas such as sports, music, arts, drama, tour guiding
Current First Aid certificate
Child protection training

Salary: $600.00 /week and full board and accommodation.
