ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

British Council Thailand is a large operation consisting of six Teaching Centres and a growing number of Partner School operations. Our main office is based in Siam Square, Bangkok, and we work at locations spread out across the Bangkok metropolitan area and in and around Chiang Mai.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

Working with both our students and with your internal colleagues at British Council, you will need:

To promote and deliver quality teaching and effective learning of English;
To support and guide teachers on the delivery of a full range of courses, and to lead and develop teachers, including the provision of performance management, training and development;
To contribute to the development, evaluation and improvement of YL courses, materials and related services at partner schools;
To support the wider aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

You can take pride in the fact that you will be part of a team that enables the British Council to meet its objectives and gives all our customers an exceptional experience. You will also be able to join regular professional development, training and skills programmes to develop your experience and skills.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A committed and dynamic ELT professional with strong experience of working with secondary learners, who is keen to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders in demonstrating best practice on a daily basis. Excellent ‘people skills’ will be essential: the successful candidate will be embracing the challenge of representing the British Council at an offsite location in an opportunity to play a key role in the development of a new and exciting school partnership. He or she will have an undergraduate degree and at least four years’ post-certificate (i.e. CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL / recognised equivalent) teaching experience in an appropriate context as well as TEFL-Q status. Prior experience in mainstream education would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite for this position: above all we are looking for confident, talented classroom practitioners willing and able to lead by example.
