ABOUT THE ROLE:
In 2018, an underdeveloped country like India witnessed an all time high of 13.6 Million Unemployed and over 50 Million under employed. Majority of this population are victims of the failing archaic public education system, where an average student is behind by at least 3 grade levels as per standards; under-qualified & under-staffed teachers are a norm and an uninspiring method of forced learning is adopted by Institutions.

We believe that this learning dystopia needs a Super Hero from amongst the oppressed, the Students. Our approach is to help students understand the “Framework of Learning” and hand hold them until they are able to create their own sustainable self-directed learning practice for academics and personal development. We help them understand how to use school for their learning and take charge of the rest.

We are looking for Teaching Fellows who can deliver our content and hand hold our students through this magical journey of self-directed learning, in some of the most difficult rural residential schools across the state of Telangana, India over a period of 6 months.

“HAPPY SCHOOLING FELLOWSHIP” is completely funded by State Government of Telangana, India and will be conducted for Schools & College serving the discriminated communities of India, such as Dalits and Tribals. The execution will be done by KAARMIC Education Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Live at the Residential School during the fellowship and work to help students create a brighter future for themselves.
2. Design and Run your own Learning Lab for the Placement School on the principles of Frugal Innovation.
3. Work on a secondary project along with the students to improve the School’s overall learning capacity.
4. Fellows have the opportunity to introduce technology and internet to a community that has never experienced it before.
5. Work with your School Management at placement school to design and deliver learning experiences ( Extra Curricular/Recreational Learning practice events - Guitar, Painting, Typing, Computers, etc. ) for the whole school to become better learners.
6. Work to achieve adoption of all learning & development initiatives in collaboration with the School.
7. Evaluate efficacy of the curriculum every week and contribute to curriculum improvement.
8. Facilitate 4 Daily Activity Sessions of our Curriculum to 160 students across batches at the Lab.

IMPORTANT DATES:
ARRIVAL STARTING: AUGUST 15, 2018
LAST ACCEPTABLE DATE OF ARRIVAL: OCTOBER 1, 2018
MAXIMUM DURATION: 3 MONTHS ( 120 WORKING DAYS BETWEEN START & END DATE )
FELLOWSHIP CYCLE END DATE: JANUARY 15, 2019

A. Autodidacts required.
B. Advanced Proficiency in English, Native English Speakers Preferred.
C. Ability to adapt with and be openminded about cultures.
D. Good interaction and prioritisation skills while dealing with myriad of tasks.
E. Leadership skills which would help bring out the leader in others.
F. Resilience and iterative at work.
G. Mentally prepared for living in a low-resource rural setting.
H. Be engaging and enthusiastic around young people
