Love hot Springs? Teach in Kokonoe, Oita Japan in April!

This opening is for a position as a Full-Time Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Kokone, Oita Prefecture starting in April 2018 to March 2019.

As a Non-Profit organization, we are looking for high-quality teachers: Individuals who are world-thinkers, team players, and contributors to society who want to make a positive impact on children's lives.

The placement will be in Pre-Schools, Elementary schools and Junior High School throughout Kokone City, where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.

Position Requirements:
● Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
● Must have completed a University Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in English countries.
● Must be currently residing in Kokone or have plans to come to Kokone at your own expense.
● Must have a strong interest in Japanese culture and language and be able to connect with Japanese people.
● Must have at least one year of English teaching experience at Elementary Schools, Junior High school experience of working with children.
● Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan (Visa sponsorship available).
● Must have a valid driver's license and reliable car in order to commute to schools, legally (we can provide you a rental car).
● Priority: Conversational Japanese.

Contract: April 2018 to March 2019

Conditions:
● Base salary is 230,000~240,000yen per month (Depending on contract, experience, etc.)
● Monday to Friday. 8:30am to 4:30pm (General Information: Details TBA)
● Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month.
● Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education's school calendar.

About Kokonoe, Oita

Kokone Town is town located in Oita Prefecture in Southern Japan. Kokonoe is an alluring area, surrounded by scenic views of nature including farmland, and highlands which change as the seasons do. A popular landmark here is the famous Kokonoe Yume Tsurihashi which translates to "The Kokonoe Dream Bridge" which is a fitting name for a bridge which spans 173 meters long and 777 meters high. In addition, Kokonoe is known for their famous onsens within the Oita prefecture where you can experience an authentic Japanese stay at a Ryokan or Japanese Inn.
