New Teachers Needed in Takamatsu, Kagawa, Japan

Posted By: Englishbiz <[email protected]>
Date: Sunday, 15 October 2017, at 2:52 p.m.

Hello and warm greetings from Takamatsu, Kagawa!

Our school, englishbiz, is looking for a few new teachers. We are located in Takamatsu, in Kagawa-ken, on the stunning island of Shikoku. A rural location, yet a mere hour away from Okayama by train, we are home to a beautiful coastal region, gentle mountains, the 88 Buddhist Temple Pilgrimage, and udon. If you are someone who has been teaching in Japan for awhile, particularly in an urban environment, we may very well have something that you are looking for: a better pace of life, a work-life balance, and a place to explore and enjoy.

Regarding the teaching position we pride ourselves on offering clean, organized, structured, and a well supported working environment. We are professional English teachers and take pride in the work we do, in the classes we deliver to students. We are not an "entertainment" type of school. You will not be asked to dance or sing (maybe the ABC song with the youngest kids, but that is it). You will not wear a mascot outfit, or be required to do things that are beyond the normal and natural scope of being an educator. We have a very limited time to teach a lot of English to kids who need it, so choreography or cosplay is not needed for what we do.

We have a deep passion for learning and education, so we take the job seriously, but with good humor, and with care and affection for those who we come in contact with. We have a great team of teachers and staff, and we support one another. We are only as good as we are to one another, and we believe that a team of like-minded people can do quite a bit for kids. So, that is what we do.

Full time teachers receive a starting salary that grows each year, paid holidays, travel allowances should they travel far, a well planned curriculum, reasonable working hours, and no infringement on their time off duty. This means that National Holidays are off, and you will not be coerced into doing things that normal teachers do not do.

To get a better sense of who we are and what we do, I invite you to look at our website, as well as our website in Japanese at . To begin our dialog I invite you to send us your CV, a copy of your degree, copies of teaching certificates you have earned if any, a recent photograph, and any other pertinent information that you feel we need to see. Please send everything to [email protected] .

We require our teachers to be in Japan already, and in possession of a working visa. We can help with renewals but you need to already be here. We need to meet in person for the interview, so please make allowances to come and see us for a face-to-face visit. We need you to be of good health and good cheer, so please ensure that you are whole, both body and mind.

We are also looking for part time teachers as well, so please do not hesitate if that is what you are looking for as well. We do not require you to be a "native speaker". Many of our teammates have English as their second and third language, and are brilliant instructors as they have a deep empathy for kids who struggle in language learning.

Many thanks for reading thus far. We look forward to receiving your information and beginning a conversation. Best regards and wishing you best of luck in your job hunt!
