Rennert Teens is hiring certified and enthusiastic ESL teachers to join our team. Our programs provide international students age 13 – 17 an opportunity to improve their English language abilities while making new friends and experiencing American culture. We do this through engaging, creative classwork, a tightly organized schedule of excursions and campus activities, and a caring, hardworking team of teachers, activity leaders, and administrative staff. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
ESL Instructors set the standard for professionalism and foster an inclusive, positive learning environment at each site. Instructors are responsible for supporting students learning, and completing all required records and documentation. ESL Instructor accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following…

LESSON PLANNING AND CLASSROOM CONTENT
- Plan and execute engaging lesson for General English that incorporate reading, listening, speaking, and writing (with a focus on speaking) and are lively, challenging, and relevant to teen learners
- Create focused multifaceted lessons for elective courses that include engaging activities, incorporate technology, and culminate with a final weekly project
- Assist with and lead at least one academic Miami excursion per week
- Introduce and assess use of new vocabulary, functional language, and grammar through varied, student-centered, communicative methods
- Prepare daily lesson plans with clear lesson objectives
- Exhibit strong classroom management skills
- Work with Academic Manager and activity staff to develop weekly student projects and to prepare for the main student showcase

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- Assist Academic Manager with administration of oral placement tests for arriving students every Monday
- Submit accurate attendance records daily, and weekly progress reports on time to Academic Manager

POSITION HOURS AND PROGRAM DATES: This is part-time, 5 day per week role for the duration of our seasonal program. Mondays require an early start to conduct placement tests at 8:30am. Students are in class from 9:30am-12:45pm Monday – Friday. Administrative hours must be held onsite at Rennert Miami during normal business hours, and in adherence to your posted schedule.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have full availability from June 25th to August 12th for our Miami teaching positions. All candidates must be available beginning June 17th for paid training. Duration of employment is based on student enrollments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and US work permit
• Ability to create differentiated content-based lessons for elective courses
• TESOL certificate, state teaching license, or Master’s degree is ESL or related field required
• At least 1 year of ESL teaching experience, at some experience teaching youth
• Demonstrated understanding of teenagers and appropriate teaching strategies
• Respect for and dedication to Rennert Teens mission, and working with students from varied backgrounds
• Strong self and time management skills, proven track record of leadership and problem-solving
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, patience and a dedication to the staff and students
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Gmail and DropBox

COMPENSATION
16.25 hours of teaching per week at $18 per hour. Rennert International pays .75 hours of administrative pay, at the rate of $14 per hour, for progress report preparation each week. Activity hours will receive the administrative pay rate of $14 per hour. Additional administrative pay is available for attending Rennert’s monthly professional development sessions and training.
