Opportunity for an International Volunteer Coordinator with TEFL experience in rural Malawi
H.E.L.P. Malawi is seeking an energetic, creative, experienced individual to join our team. The International Volunteer Coordinator (IVC)†is a management position within H.E.L.P. Malawi, based at Nanthomba Full Primary School near the Liwonde National Park, Malawi. Please find out more about us at http://helpchildren.org
The IVC is responsible for all aspects of H.E.L.P. Malawiís volunteer program (advertising the program, volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, budget, & records) and also runs the afterschool English Activity Class (3 days a week) held at Nanthomba Primary School.
The position will run from early July 2017 on a one or (preferably) two year contract.

The ideal candidate wish list:
Bachelor degree educated (or equivalent)
TEFL qualified (preferred)
A native English speaker (preferred)
Confident in a classroom setting and brilliant at creative lesson planning
Experience in managing a team; leadership skills
Excellent organization skills, and skilled at computers to include word, excel, dropbox, using internet for research, & social media savvy
Happy to work in a multi-cultural team, alongside Malawian teachers and colleagues and an excellent communicator.
Preferable: experience of working in developing countries
Trust worthy and able to work alone on specific projects
Personal attributes to include tolerant, intrinsically motivated, open minded, patient, creative, solution focused, AND a great sense of humour.
To act as a positive, culturally sensitive and responsible role model for the students
Current driverís license holder
Compensation/Benefits
A compensation/benefits package includes: a competitive salary; travellers insurance; one round trip to your home country per year, and flights to/from Malawi; generous holiday allowance; housing at the Central Africa Wilderness Safarisí Mvuu camp (inside a national park); a nominal meal allowance; use of a bike; plus visas/permits necessary to work in Malawi.
