Program Overview
Our formula for success: aim high, train hard, and transform lives teaching in a community where you choose to build your career in education.
Teaching Fellows are accomplished professionals and recent graduates who commit to becoming exceptional teachers in our most disadvantaged communities. With hands-on training, Teaching Fellows develop the skills to hit the ground running on day one and continue improving for years to come.
Who We Want

We believe teaching is an honor and a privilege, which is why we hold the highest standards of any training program in America. We look for accomplished individuals who possess the skills and deep content knowledge to teach critical subjects where great teachers are often in short supply, like science, math, special education and Spanish.
Given the significant need, we are particularly interested in candidates with the dedication and knowledge required to teach Spanish.
You might be a native Spanish speaker who now wishes to give back as a teacher. You could be an accomplished recent graduate who majored in Spanish or developed fluency while studying abroad who now wants to share this expertise with students. Whatever your background, you believe that every student can excel and will do whatever it takes to help them get there.
Benefits of TNTP Teaching Fellows
Classroom-Centered Training: Our training is radically simple: focused practice on key skills to get new teachers off to a strong start. With intensive summer training and ongoing coaching from experienced teachers that lasts throughout the first year in the classroom, Teaching Fellows practice, reflect, and improve until they master the craft of great teaching.
Flexible Teaching Locations: With programs throughout the U.S., Teaching Fellows can choose to teach and live in a city that fits their interests. Though our programs share a common mission, they are as unique as the communities they serve.
Certification that Counts: We hold the highest standards for certification of any program in the country. Upon graduating our programs, Teaching Fellows are recognized not simply as certified teachers, but as having a proven track record of classroom success.
Full Salary and Benefits: Teaching Fellows will begin earning a full teacher’s salary, starting at $35,000-60,000, plus comprehensive benefits, while pursuing certification when they start working full-time at a district or charter school this fall.
