The Job

Are you looking to develop your teaching career in one the most vibrant and exciting cities in Asia, working alongside an international team of teachers where every day at work you will be making a real difference?

The Schools

Established in 1972, Wall Street English is the global leader in English language training for adults. Our innovative Wall Street English Method, which focuses on teaching people to understand and speak English, integrates interactive lessons, self-study in workbooks, and small classes led by native English speaking teachers to provide the most effective English language instruction available.

For over 40 years, Wall Street English has successfully taught over 2 million students through over 450 centers in 28 countries worldwide and is the international brand of choice. Wall Street English is owned by Pearson Group, the global leader in the publication and delivery of English language learning content, distributing to over 60 countries and helping to educate over 100 million people around the world.

We now have positions available in vibrant cities in Vietnam as well as Shanghai, Beijing and 9 other major cities in China.

The Students

Students are typically 20 to 35 year old professionals, well-educated and from a wide variety of backgrounds. They are motivated to learn English and recognise it as a skill essential for their career development. Levels range from beginner right through to advanced and all students are placement tested to ensure they are studying alongside students of the same abilities.

Core Classes

Small class sizes combined with pre-developed lesson plans and professional teaching tools help you to deliver fun, interactive, and meaningful lessons with no outside preparation required. Core classes at Wall Street English have an average of four students. These classes involve controlled practice, communicative activities, and feedback.

Complimentary Classes

Teachers also run Complementary Classes, which are are communication classes of 8 students on average, allowing students to develop their fluency with fellow students at their same level. Class topics vary and usually involve interactive role plays, such as arranging holiday plans, ordering food in a restaurant, being interviewed for a job, and debating on a variety of topics.

Social Clubs

You can incorporate your creativity, cultural background and interests in Social Club activities that we organize for our students. Social Club activities could be anything from a pub quiz to a student theatre performance to holiday celebrations. The themes of Social Clubs depend entirely on you and your students' interests. The goal is to get all students together in a fun environment.

Professional Development

You will not only be teaching, but also developing your own skill sets and competencies. Teacher training and support is central to our company culture and through workshops, seminars and class observations you will be constantly expanding the teaching methods at your disposal. Time is devoted to idea and experience sharing so you always have fresh ideas to work with.

Why Vietnam?

If you are wondering why so many English teachers choose to live in Vietnam, there are many reasons! Whether you prefer to explore the winding inner-city alleyways or wander aimlessly along the beach, to climb mountains or trek jungles, to delve into a rich history or get to grips with a burgeoning entrepreneurial scene, Vietnam has it all. All this can be reached easily and comfortably, and very cheaply. And the Vietnamese will welcome you with open arms! While doing all this, you can pursue any number of hobbies and find the comforts of home.

Shanghai

Shanghai is the possibly the most vibrant city in world, and certainly the most exciting in China. From its famous skyline and it busy thoroughfares to its small lanes and neighborhoods; Shanghai has something to offer for everyone.

Shanghai was where China first met the West and it is still a frontier town, obsessed with the latest fads, fashions and technology. But tucked between the shopping malls and the eye-popping modern architecture is the old Shanghai, where temples nestle down alleys, along with street markets and classical Chinese gardens.

Shanghai is a city of stunning contrasts, where visitors can go from sipping a cocktail in a designer bar overlooking the Bund, to eating dumplings at a street stall, or gazing at a 10th-century Buddhist monastery, in the space of a few hours. Summer is hot and humid, winter can get cold, but Shanghai never stops.

Beijing - The City

Beijing, capital of the Peoples Republic of China, is the political, economic, cultural, educational and international trade and communication center. Located in northern China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend. There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks. One of the most important landmarks in the city is Tiananmen Square. This is the worlds largest public square and a must see for all visitors from abroad and from other places in China.
