Business Manager Position in Bangkok, Thailand

IDP Education is one of the world’s leading providers of student placement services for overseas study, and is represented in 80 offices across 30 countries. IDP is a co-owner of the IELTS test, and operates language schools in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, reaching a total of 15,000 students per year.

IDP English has been established in Thailand for 25 years, and provides high quality testing, training and advice for students departing for study abroad, academic support at universities, and corporate training in Bangkok. Current clients include two leading Thai government universities, a European government, and a key Thai government regulator.

ROLE
Reporting to the Country Director IDP Thailand, the Business Manager has overall responsibility for the IDP English business in Thailand, and works with Head of Sales and Head of School to achieve the organisation’s business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business development - develop and execute the annual business plan;
Sales and operations - achieve sales targets, develop a strong pipeline of potential students, manage operations effectively and efficiently;
Teaching quality standards and customer experience - ensure high academic standards and high levels of student satisfaction;
Financial management - accountable for the overall profitability of the operational activities of the business;
Cross selling with other IDP Thailand business units - play a key role in promoting cross-selling within the organisation;
People leadership - develop capability within the business and provide positive and professional leadership to the team;
Regional and global participation - make a positive contribution to IDP's global organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years in business and operational management, with provable track record of success;
Degree qualified, with relevant education or experience in business management in the education sector;
Proficient in English (CEFR Band C);
Sound IT skills – Microsoft Office;
Background in English language training preferred.

Highly effective planning and organising skills - able to manage multiple competing priorities;
Ability to develop and maintain good working relations with Thai and expatriate staff, managers and clients;
Effective management and leadership skills;
Able to analyse, interpret and communicate information effectively;
Able to implement creative solutions to problems;
Good team player;
Excellent communication skills.

COMPENSATION
Salary Baht 100,000 a month, plus 13th month salary and company performance bonus;
Coverage by IDP medical insurance scheme.
