†$5000 per month. SAT, TOEFL, and Writing Teacher and College Admissions Counselor needed in Hanoi and Saigon, Vietnam

Hello. Iím a teacher/tutor for a college admissions counseling business with locations in Hanoi and Saigon, Vietnam, offering guidance for high school students hoping to attend prestigious American Universities. I have been asked to help hire new teacher/tutors. We are a small business with only a few employees run by a director who is a Stanford Graduate, and we are willing to pay our employees well beyond the industry standard. We also pay travel and visa expenses. This is a great, low-stress job, perfect for instructors who are able to work independently and to develop their own curriculum. Although the majority of work tends to be 1-on-1, instructors will also be responsible for one or two group classes, so they must be able to design and implement their own curriculum in the field in which they are hired. These students are some of the best in Vietnam, mostly planning on going to top tier colleges in the United States, and there are none of the behavioral problems you might find in other schools.

Start date will be October or November depending on the position. There is some flexibility on this.

Here are the positions we need to fill.

SAT/TOEFL instructor:
The SAT/TOEFL instructor must have experience teaching TOEFL and must be confident in teaching the Critical Reading and Writing section, although he/she could also handle math if qualified. We could hire someone without a lot of direct SAT experience if he/she has a graduate degree and experience teaching writing and literature courses. There is already one SAT instructor (me) so I would be available to provide some training.

Writing Instructor/College Admissions Counselor.
The writing teacher and College Admissions Counselor will teach writing courses and work with students one on one. Specifically, they will work very closely with individual students planning all stages of their application, with special focus on their application essays. A successful candidate must have a graduate degree in a related field and experience teaching high school or university writing courses. This is not an ESL position.

Required skills and qualifications:

1. Relevant degree from a United States University. Masterís or PhD degree preferred, and graduate teaching work would be looked upon favorably. Someone with a BA degree would have to have several years of employment specific to the position.

2. Prior teaching experience or teaching qualification.

3. Teachers must be able to develop their own curriculum and find their own course materials.

The school would prefer a long-term contract, but would settle for a short-term contract for the proper candidate. New employees will be given a 3 month trial period.
