KB-BRIDGE is the largest privately owned, non-state institute in the Sakhalin Oblast region. Founded in 2006, KB-Bridge has been delivering English language learning solutions to this economically forward moving community and a culturally rich and diverse region of the Russian Far East. Within any academic year, KB-Bridge caters to about 1000 learners of English as a foreign language. This includes children of all age groups and adults as well.
With the growing expat community and the presence of many international businesses in the region, these is a demand for an internationally recognized primary school with the ability to cater to the expat community. KB-Bridge has initiated setting up of a school that can offer the IB PYP programme for children of expat employees as well as for children of Russian origin who are mobile as a result of their parent’s professional mobility.
Yuzhno, as is popularly known, is a city with two distinctive faces: an amazing green face in the summer and an extraordinary white face in the winter. The school operates two centers for ESL delivery, a Kindergarten and a primary school (IB-PYP). Located in the heart of the city, KB-Bridge is a well known, popular and reputed partner in providing educational services.
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Russian: Þ́æíî-Ñàõàëè́íñê) is a city and the administrative center of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. Due to significant investments from oil giants like Gasprom, ExxonMobil, Shell Sakhalin Energy Investments, the region has become the eastern hub for a lot of economic progress.
More recently, the city has been dubbed the “City in the Sunny Valley” since it is uniquely situated between two mountain ranges. This unique positioning protects this city from hurricanes, typhoons and blizzards. The city has seen a great deal of change along with the development it continues to experience. Sometimes referred to as “Treasure Island”, it is energy independent and also meets the energy needs of its neighbors.
Apart from oil & gas, the region has historically been a rich source of forest related products; it is also the third-largest producer of fish products in Russia’s Far East. This international & cosmopolitan reality of this region is the reason why it is quite common to find local people speaking most of the regional languages, like Korean, Japanese, Chinese apart from Russian, the native language. Also, the region is culturally rich and diverse and provides for a thrilling experience of international cuisine, a high quality of life, and plenty of out-door sporting activities (both summer and winter).
Starting this fall, KB-Bridge International School would like to invite FOUR Native Teachers with the relevant background and experience to join its already existing team of teachers. There are currently TWO native teachers, who have been working with the Institute since 2013. We are looking or teachers with the following background and experience:
Teacher Requirements:
1. Teacher Qualifications & Experience: The School prefers teachers with
1.1. Qualified teacher status pertinent to the teacher duties to be undertaken
1.2. Experience of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
2. Knowledge and Skills: He / she should
2.1. Demonstrate consistent alignment with KB-Bridge’s values of Inspiration, Creativity, Harmony and Diversity
2.2. Possess excellent communication skills and be able to adapt to the demands of an international school
2.3. Bring comprehensive understanding of current trends in teaching & learning and must possess the ability to motivate and stir learners to explore and discover their optimum potentials
2.4. Be able to use a variety of styles to deliver to a multi-cultural and mixed-ability class, and create challenging and engaging learning opportunities for each student
2.5. Be aware of the principles of design and assessment for learning
2.6. Be able to engage fully in a developing primary school and in particular help foster team spirit
2.7. Have the ability to engage with a diverse and demanding workload
3. Responsibilities:
3.1. To implement PYP policy and strategic plans both in the Primary and Kindergarten sections of the school
3.2. To work closely with the Head of the Kindergarten, Primary and PYP Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specific classes, including resource selection and managing them effectively in classrooms
3.3. To participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the PYP curriculum across all segments of the school
3.4. To participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the assessment and reporting systems
3.5. To promote health and safety standards within assigned classes
3.6. To participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training / meetings
3.7. To encourage team spirit and develop links with colleagues across the school
3.8. To contribute to community service and participate in activities that are designed to facilitate multi-cultural integration
3.9. To contribute to the extra-curricular activities of the school.
3.10. To contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the school and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions, etc.
3.11. To augment the professional standing of the teaching community
4. Specific Targets: The successful candidates will assume this post at the preliminary stage of the development of KB-Bridge International School, Russia. The following list gives an indication of some of the specific current matters to be addressed:
4.1. To participate in the current development of the PYP, and the Kindergarten School associated with it.
4.2. To assist in the implementation of the PYP programme
4.3. To use technology to support PYP learning and assist in the design and development of a virtual learning environment
4.4. To participate in the on-going accreditation process
4.5. To fully participate in the development and implementation of the programme
5. Teaching Areas: All teachers will be required to
5.1. Teach all core subject areas, namely, Language (English), Mathematics, Units of Inquiry (Integrated science and social studies)
5.2. Maintain ongoing parent / school communication
5.3. Plan high quality content-based lessons and ongoing documentation of student achievement
5.4. Manage an engaging and organized learning environment
5.5. Participating in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
5.6. Supervising children during breaks
5.7. Planning with colleagues across the school
6. Contract Overview: The contract for each primary school teacher stipulates the following:
6.1. The teaching day is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
6.2. Teachers are entitled to six working days of medical leave during the course of any school year
6.3. Each teacher is expected to be a home room teacher and participate in the delivery of the school care programme
6.4. Each teacher is expected to run an enrichment programme at least once a week
6.5. Teachers will be involved in duties, lunch time activities, supervision and community clubs within the school day
6.6. The working week is from Monday to Friday (both days inclusive)

Academic & Experiential Credentials
Any Degree; a degree in early childhood education or a degree in education could prove advantageous A TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or any ESL teaching certificate
At least 3 – 5 years of experience as an IB PYP teacher; or, 1 – 2 years of IB PYP teacher for the PYP school; and, 1 – 2 years of teaching experience in a Kindergarten school All teachers will need to be Native Speakers of the English Language
The School Offers
An initial renewable TWO-year contract with a competitive compensation and benefits package - Teacher GRADE A: a monthly salary of 85000 Rubles (for teachers with 3 – 5 years of IB PYP experience
- Teacher GRADE B: a monthly salary of 70000 rubles (for teachers with 1 – 2 years of IB PYP experience)
- Teacher GRADE C: a monthly salary of 55000 rubles (for Non-IB teachers)
- Performance Linked Quarterly Bonus ( Maximum of 7% of teacher's quarterly earnings)

IB Teacher Recruitment Benefits - Onetime allowance of 10000 rubles as Re-location benefit (on arrival)

- Full economy fare (air travel) from place of stay to Yuzhno-Sakalinsk (reimbursed on arrival) including excess baggage cost of up to a maximum of 10 kgs (reimbursed on arrival)
