Teachers of English (Malaysia, Singapore) & Teacher Trainer - Young Learner Education (Singapore)

The British Council is recruiting teachers to join our Teaching Centre in Singapore, late August 2014 and at the newly opened Damansara Mutiara in Kuala Lumpur branch in September 2014. These are excellent career development opportunities for teachers to broaden their academic and professional skills. In addition, we are also recruiting a Teacher Trainer to join the Teacher Development Centre in Singapore.

British Council teaching centres benefit from a wide range of ICT and teaching resources, and provides many opportunities for training and development, including funding for DELTA, the YL Extension to the CELTA and a full programme of INSETT training. Many of our teachers have benefitted from this and have gone on to take up coordinator and management posts within the network.

Teachers of English ( Kuala Lumpur )

We have two teaching centres in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. Operating since June 2014, the Damansara Mutiara branch is based in the Curve shopping mall in a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, 14 km from the city centre and main branch. Teaching young learners, aged from 5-18 years, is a large part of our operation. In addition we teach adults from Elementary to Advanced, IELTS preparation and myClass.

To be considered you should have an undergraduate degree and be TEFL-I qualified i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL and have at least 2 years post-certificate relevant teaching experience gained through from a variety of age groups and levels. Teachers of English ( Singapore )

We have four teaching centres across the island delivering English language, teacher training and professional development courses to Singaporeans and students of other nationalities. Your principle duties are to facilitate the effective learning of English both inside and outside the classroom, in order to enable students and customers to communicate more effectively in the language and to increase their understanding of contemporary UK.

To be considered you should have an undergraduate degree and be TEFL-Q qualified i.e. Cambridge DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL, and have at least 2 years post-certificate relevant teaching experience gained through from a variety of age groups and levels. Teacher Trainer, Young Learner Education ( Singapore )

The Teacher Development Centre ( TDC ) was established in 1968 to engage with teachers and key stakeholders in the public and private education sectors in Singapore. The TDC handles a very wide range of teacher training work in all educational sectors, covering Teaching in its widest sense. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in client management and relationship building and delivering high quality teaching/training to customers from a range of other sectors.

To be considered, you should have an undergraduate degree, be TEFL-Q qualified ( i.e. Cambridge DELTA/Trinity DipTESOL ) or have obtained a Graduate diploma in Education as a well as a proven track record of teaching/training in a wide range of situations in public and private sectors, particularly Ministry of Education.
