Coordinator for Speakers of Other Languages Needed in Maine, USA

Position Description:
The coordinator for speakers of other languages will be responsible for teaching two sections of composition for English language learners, while also providing extensive tutoring, mentoring and academic support for the Maine School of Science and Mathematics’ international students. Preference will be given to those with the ability to support English Language Learners in United States History.

Qualifications:
A successful candidate must have at least three years of successful teaching experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages in a formal, academic setting. Preference will be given to individuals holding a Master’s degree in English Composition or a related field. A successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication and organization skills, as well as a willingness and desire to help international students adjust to living away from home at a residential school in a foreign culture.

Compensation:
Salary to be determined pending qualifications.
